That 125 you have was that a 134?? If so what was the difference compared to stock?

Next year wanna get a 125 for my gf but some times pops one up with a 134 or 144. Always thought that it wouldn't make a lot of difference only less reliable then stock bore.

Gonna be a hard search for the right red one. Asking price for a standard turd are sky high no matter wich country.

Bummer on the pipe! And shock! With the scalvini on his way it's going to end well.

Outlaw has a 30 day return so in that way you're always save.. they are just the middle man.

How about the shorty.. did you find one?

I have made my own carbon silencer.. Shorty's are not allowed here and they kill top. Took some time to find the right tube but finaly i've found one.
Some cutting and drilling and it's done. Need to clean and polish the rear end today.
Weight saving against the pc is around 270 gram.

Tell us the spot to purchase that carbon fibre tube

Just a little stronger everywhere in my opinion,

the 134 wasn't really anything more than an overbore so didn't feel much different to stock,
but the 139 felt noticeably stronger, only got two rides out of it before it went though.. the cup in the cylinder where the powervalve rod slots into must've had a crack in it that I didn't notice, as a bit of that broke off and ruined It, it was a fresh plated and ported cylinder aswell.... I may get it repaired and give it another try though, just needs a weld and replate.

I was unlucky, that could've happened on the 125,...

If I was you I wouldn't discount a 134, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find one if you get me... they're much a muchness in reality.

Ok thanks, then it's gonna be a bike with a standard cylinder..

Those couple of cc she is not gonna notice. Prefer reliability then a engine what brings nothing extra and breaks. Finally some one what tells how it is. Normal you only read that it hauls ass(what is hard to believe) but it is what i thought it would be.. Like a RM144.

Few bits turned up,
Got some service stuff, got my covers back from Pro-carbon and got a rear caliper and disc guard, just waiting for the carbon one's to be made now..
The pipe arrived, fitment is a bit off but I got it on there, also got the v force reed block.

Big thanks again to Jelle at Outlawracing.nl for hooking me up with pretty much al the bolt on power mods, thanks buddy!

How is the bike running with the pipe?

Thought that you did mention one time for a sealer for the airbox..

There is a guy on ebay that is selling them.
Just ordered one and he was willing to lower the value otherwise i have to pay again those shit import duties.

Thought would show it just in case you are searching for one.

Thanks Ray,
good to know, i will probably pick one up at some point but will have to buy a new airbox aswell if so.. I'm trying to keep all the mods reversible, so sticking to bolt-on mods only with this bike, besides, i did all the polishing and de-burring linkages etc 5yrs ago on the last one and don't fancy doing it again any time soon.. Smile

Not ridden the bike since it was bog standard with the Gnarly, so couldn't tell you lol.

Been piecing together a full titanium kit for it though, found a supplier with all the proper size bolts, 22,28,32mm etc, and he's sponsoring a couple of bikes in BSB this year so i'm assuming the quality is there, got all the specialist bolts coming from docwob, upper/lower shock mounts, kickstart, brake pivot, airfilter bolt, rear mc and front brake hose clamp bolts, also found a ti clevis pin and a few other little bits, basically the whole bike is covered bar the swingarm, axles and linkages.

Just need a few random size drilled headed hex flange bolts if you spot anything,
I need,
1 xm10x137/140mm, 1.25 pitch.
3x m7x60.
4xm7x50.

M7 is used in the cases.. only one who does have those m7 is docwob and docwob don't have drilled hex. You need to get the set of bolts for the cases. Thats the reason i still don't have it coz they are not drilled.

Clevis pins are in france.. together with the bolts to mount the footpeg brackets. Yes they are save already used it and so far the landings are safe without snapping those bolts.

M5 bolts have most suppliers in torx(swingarm)

The m10 is from the engine mounting(m10x117 and m10x138)?. those you don't have in drilled ones. Only one who got it was docwob and i got those. But there is a guy on ebay.. he got me drilled outside clutchbolts and waterpump bolts those 28-32-40 etc etc ones maybe he have it or he can make it to the right length what he did for me.

But a m7 is pretty rare size otherwise i would already found them.

If you put ti on ti.. you hear it scream when tight it together.. gives me the creeps when i tight the 3 head mounts and always thinking that it will snap.

Or maybe at a certain size they don't drill it any more.. Don't know.

The upper and lower shock mounts those 54 and 44 mm are not safe.. put the lower one on and did a jump. Pulled it out and right away there where 2 marks from the shock on it.. so not gonna use it. Got the steel ones back in.

Banjo bolts there drilled ones on ebay.

Rear brake piston from titanium is on ebay together with the rest of the bolts for the rear brake.
The 2 bolts to keep the nissin rear brake pomp i got from docwob. They are normal used for the forkprotector but is the same size. Those hrc ones.

Everything need to be greases with ceramic grease and not torq to honda specs but under it. Got a ti bolt snapped of the plastic cover from the rv.. thats no fun if thats gonna happen in a engine or reed.

Will look up the names so you can send them a message. All of them where kind and helpfull to get the right bolts. Maybe one of them can help you out.

Thanks mate but I already have everything apart from the above sizes bought already, right down to the m4x12 countersunk screws for the front m/c cap and clevis pin.

Spent ages getting all the dimensions for the 125 and this, and took me ages finding proper size 22,28,32mm bolts with drilled heads, everyone elses kits just round up/down the length with generic sizes.

I'll keep an eye on the shock mounts, thanks for the heads up.

Titanium started to arrive, just need to find a few more pieces and it'll be as far as I want to go with the TI, not going to bother with sprockets, discs and linkages, I think i'd rather keep them steel.

Hey, great build man! Been collecting parts for my CR 250 2002 HM, that I want to build this winter. Also ordered same rear brake disc guard as you from Pro-Carbon.

Just wanted to ask if your is the same cheap quality as mine. It feels very thin and flimsy. Considering to get it done custom from someone who builds carbon parts or just order the CMT Compositi one, which looks like a better quality piece.

Anyway, great bike! Keep up the good work Wink

Thanks,

Mine had a bit of laquer haze, but it feels solid when bolted up on the bike, seems a lot more rigid than the oem one.

I'm happy with mine on the whole, and never had another brands to compare it to, but hope you end up with something you're happy with, whichever route you go.

If you're into motorsport, cars and road bikes etc, you'll sort of know what to expect for the price,

Hello. This is the first time coming across this build. Very nice. I know your basically on the other side of the world. But for titanium I've been very pleased with Mettec and Race Tech here in the States. I've also purchased titanium from Phil Denton engineering whose hardware is very nice. They even do custom stuff if needed. I like reading through some of these builds as I've come across more sources on Vital than if I was just doing random searches online. For what it's worth just thought I'd share a few alternatives I knew about. The drilled washer is aluminum from Race Tech but still decent. The others are titanium. Air filter bolt and front plate bolt are from Phil Denton.

Getting bolts from mettec or racetech is not intresting enough to get it. 75 dollar shipment and import taxes and the price of the bolts are the same as in Holland or the uk or France just not drilled. The quality of docwob, titanux or the france ones or the Holland ones are good.

Ordered a guts seat foam. 79 dollar-45 shipment and 45euro import tax. Talking about a special foam lol

Phil Denton is having special bolts. Ti footpeg brackets just for 245 gbp ex tax or the hrc airfilter bolt on the pic. The hrc bolt on the pic you can get with docwob they sell it as forkprotector bolts. I use them for the rear pump.

Pro carbon parts is nothing wrong with it. Got those parts on the bike for 3 years now and are still the same as i put it brand new on. Price/ quality is decent.. The quality of extreme carbon is not something to be happy with. But i got the idea that pro carbon is not making them but some one else. I asked them to make me a carbon tube and the answer i got was that they don't know how to do it.
Kinda strange if you're in the carbon business.

Well we are all searching parts for old bikes and the search around the world gives me more fun then having it on the bike. Special if you lose a 25 gbp
Ti bolt on the track. Also again to titanclassic to get me a new bolt.

Have fun guys in the weekend it's getting 35 degrees over here.

Is shipping from the States to your side seriously $75 ? I paid about $8 shipping to get hardware from Phil Denton.
6/29/2019 4:15pm
Thanks for the heads up,
I went with titanium drilled washers so I could heat anno them, was unsure if I was going to do the bolts, but I fitted a few and they looked too shiny so I coloured them also... not to everyone's taste but I think they look better, got most of them fitted, the flash has made hem look shiny in the pics, they look better in natural light.

On the shipping, Yep..... Postage on some stuff is just daft, it can be/is cheap, but certain companies want profit on shipping also... For example, one of the companies you mentioned has M10x140 bolts for 25$, and want 35$ to post that one bolt... nuts, no pun intended Smile

I did the same thing with my brake tip. Your bike looks great.

Thanks guys, yeah I like it.

Got most of them fitted now, clevis pin was too short for the HRC/aftermarket clevis though, the two dome nuts I ordered are too short for the VHM head, plus I need six...., so need to get those ordered, and find a drilled m10x140, then i'll fit both the lower engine mounts.
and obviously still need the m7 stuff to finish the crankcases, but nearly there.

Few pics, bikes filthy believe it or not. might wash it tomorrow and take some decent one's.

How did you mount the ktm tip to the cr brake pedal ? It doesn't look like enough material to tap into as is .

I ground off the rivets removing the brake tip. The rivets actually line up perfectly with the holes on the new tip. I just ground the exposed posts flat with a dremel then tapped them. Although it's made for Hammerhead pedals, surprisingly it worked out pretty well. I have to add it is a lot larger then stock

That's obviously not an 02-07 cr250 brake pedal as the tip mounts differently, what year bike have you done that to ?
7/2/2019 7:37am
I figured it couldn't have been a gen3 unless you'd used a completely different pedal, or i'd have done it already lol.
Lovely looking bike though, i had an 01 125, always been a Honda guy.

Thanks. Same here. I've had Hondas for the most part myself.
83 CR 125, 87 CR 125, 88 CR 250, 92 CR 500
01 CR 250.. I can't forget my 69 Honda mini trail 50 LOL.
7/2/2019 11:11am
You beat me at Honda, my resume' is an 89 125, 01 125, 03 125, another 03 125, and the 07 250.. , did bang my head once and buy a 97 kx125 though... lol.

Always liked the look of the alloy framed Honda compared to the other bikes of the time and guess it just stuck,

Got the prototype ignition and rc valve covers, they're not the finished product by a long way, but gives an idea.

Got all the titanium on now also, everything is ti bar the linkages, axles and rotor bolts.

Sounds cooL. I rolled my cr125 outside for better light, to look it over in 44 degrees and rain, very damp with the bay near by. A few bolts and washers don’t belong on the bike, mainly on the rear of it. I checked service Honda, they have all the hardware. 2 notebook pages of hardware I need. I always like to change the shroud and side plates. I used applied racing aluminum bolts, no washers.
