Picked up a really good condition 2007 RM125 from a mate of mine. Going to strip it too a frame and start again! The look of the bike is going to be a clean factory looking bike. Going to do a bit of cerakote on the engine and hubs but not go too overboard with it.

This is how the bike looks as i bought it:

Picked up this super sick Scalvini pipe!

Some brand new yellow excel rims!

Being a KTM rider nothing compares to the brembo brakes, so i went with a ktm front brake master cylinder!

Sand blasted some parts and applied some cerakote from my home setup!

Got the bike down to the frame, hopefully get the engine cleaned up and a fresh top end in next week so i can begin the rebuild process!

So fully rebuilt the whole engine using Hot rods bottom end rebuild kit and pro x top end rebuilt kit. So once that was complete I started piecing it together! Just waiting on a new water pump gear as the one that was in it was damaged, once that shows up will be able to get it running. Also cerakoted the radiators tungsten grey and made custom brackets for the silencer and the rmz front plate. Here’s the list of expenses so far

$3500 - bike price
$800 - scallvini exhaust
$430 - excel rims
$130 - Brembo front master cylinder
$110 - nickel wurks engine fastner kit
$474 - pro x rebuild kit and wheel bearings
$244 - VForce3 reeds
$228 - Guts racing seat foam and cover
$397 - PROX clutch basket
$672 - bottom end rebuild
$180 - works connection clutch perch
$279 - plastics
$185 - handlebars and bar pad
$122 - braided front brake hose
$230 - front brake disc
$70 - bolt kit
$100 - chain guide
$800 - suspension coatings and setup
$8995 plus cerakote expenses

Does anyone know if a rmz 450 rear suspension mono shock will work in a 2003 rm250

On my 07 rm250 I was very happy with just a switch to a 280mm rotor/bracket and everything else stock.

I will look into over size rotor cause brakes at moment are so shit. I also seem to remember reading that a honda master cylinder makes an improvement.

Yep I’m using the original calliper, I went with Brembo because I have a 450 SXF so I wanted a similar feel to that

Yeah the Honda master cylinder is meant to be really good but in my opinion the Brembo brakes are my first preference!

Haven’t updated in a little bit been a bit busy!

Got my suspension revalved and got springs to suit my weight, also got a guts seat foam and cover! My coremoto brake lines showed finally so I assembled them with my cerakoted caliper!

Excel spokes also came so I laced up the front wheel

Update! Wheels are done, brakes are assembled and bled. Graphics are on also.

When the cases were apart the gearbox wasn’t buggered but the gears and a little wear on them but I was unable to find another gearbox so I left it. But came across one the other day so pulled the engine back out and will be able to install it once it arrives! Apart from that it’s almost complete just a couple little things

This is turning out awesome! I love the yellow rims. I think you did a really classy mix of new and older plastic styles, too. It looks like a factory bike from the early 2000s. Super clean!

Bike looks awesome. Be cautious with the hot rods crank - they’re known to fail.
