Thanks Mate. I’m active duty Army, so my build is taking a lot longer than planned. It will be my forever bike too.

Anyone in the Northern Virginia/Maryland area that would mind helping me build an engine? I feel like I can do it, I just don’t want to screw it up.

Nice build

I'm parting out a CRF250R with lots of Pro circuit mods.

PC/R&D carb
PC cam engine etc (seized)

Let me know if you might need/want some stuff.

Good luck with your build

Thing is bitchin man, I love those bikes. Had one that had a pc motor, full Hinson, dialed my own carb, and just some fc suspension-I don’t even think I fucked with the clamps or link. Thing was magic once you made it work.

Thanks man! It’s been hard to do it with my limited knowledge. I don’t have any friends that ride or mechanical knowledge on bike engines. I wish I knew someone nearby that could help. Lol.

Unfortunately, full bike probably won’t be completed for awhile. Engine will be though. Found out I’m going to Saudi Arabia in June.

Not the most popular build, but I’ve made some progress.

looking forward to hear more on this, have a blown up '09 250f (crankshaft broke through cases) in the garage that one day I will restore properly.
Those bikes handled like no other, with better suspension, a modded carb to get rid of those bogs, and a touch on the engine to give it a bit more bottom-mid I would probably choose it over a '22

I’m realizing now how little I knew about this motor, wish I’d have torn it down myself. Or had it now to

I went with the Tokyomods carb rebuild. I should have enough power with all the other mods I hope! I’m taking my time, first 4-stroke I’ve ever built.

Has anyone on here had an engine done by Tom Morgan? I thought all the big places etched the head. They didn’t do it to mine. Not a complaint, just a question.

Did you rebuild the engine your self then? Very awesome build, I have a 2008 that I took down to the frame. Just got my frame re polished and might try to do the triple clamps or just get billet ones. The valves were out of spec the last race and the last time out on the bike I went over the bars as the engine popped and then stopped mid corner. I want to do a new piston or big bore kit but that's money towards a new bike!

Looking forward to more progress pics ! Here are some OEM hubs I polished up for a set of wheels I was going to make for sand riding. Maybe you have a use for em? Cheers !

I did rebuild the engine myself, but I had Tom Morgan port the cylinder and install the valves. Those hubs look great!!! I’m working on polishing the frame too.

Not looking to sell either at the moment. It’ll probably be awhile before I’m done building the first one, let alone the second one. I’ve dumped so much money into the current one. Lol. The second build probably won’t be as extravagant.

I’m waiting on an oil seal for the alternator cover to finish the engine. I should have bolts for the frame arrive this week, so I decided to start cleaning up the linkage and replace the bearings. Swing arm is next. I know, really slow build. Engine will be totally completed once I get the seal. I just hope I put it all together correctly. First four stroke build.

Nothing like spending hours to polish something that will
look dirty after the first ride….

Been awhile due to my knee replacement surgery. I took my parts to TAGMX in North Carolina. Cool people and easy to deal with. Talked me into getting my CRF frame black which I already planned on. They’re also doing my suspension. They do some sweet cerakote work.

Starting back at it. Picked up the frame and suspension this weekend. Didn’t get much time to start putting it together because of the hurricane in Puerto Rico.

Thanks man! It’s taken awhile to find some parts and then a few months to get the coatings and suspension done. Knee replacement in April didn’t help either. Should be pretty good when I finally finish!

Looks like it’s going to be badass!! Don’t feel bad, I’ve been working on a full mod KLX110 for 4 years and just as I was waiting for the last piece to arrive in the mail, I broke my ankle. Looks like it will have to wait all winter. Your bike is going to be sick when finished, however long it takes.

Sorry about your ankle! I originally bought one bike, and then found a guy selling a roller and bought it. My original intention was to build a second bike with the old parts from the original, but I decided to do the second one the same way and even went bigger.

I ended up putting in the Athena big bore kit and will probably be getting a Rekluse clutch for the second engine. Currently all of the parts for the second engine are at Tokyo Mods along with the carb and waiting on their CDI. The first engine is built and I went with Tom Morgan for the porting. Hopefully I get some time soon to start putting it all together!
