So i just finished the restoration on this Yamaha Yz250. Of course i forgott to take a picture before i tore it down. The bike was a real turd, dirty, greasy and not taken cared of. Here is an example of how the parts looked like.

So every part has been cleaned, buffed and replaced when out of spec.

I sandblasted and painted the frame, got new bearings for the swingarm, linkage, wheels and rear suspension. The bike also got new radiators and hoses. I rebuilt the top end with an Wiseco piston and an V-Force 3 reed cage, and got the carburator cleaned up.

All aluminum details have ben glass blasted and polished. Got a new PC Works pipe with the 304 silencer. New plastics with graphics from Doc Wobb. The bike runs great and looks great. I wanted to keep the oem look on the bike.

Nice and clean. I'm starting to gather parts right now. I plan on building an 02-04 yz 125 my self. I like the stock graphics and the idea of keeping the old style plastics.

Do it! However, you probably have / will obtain some trick parts that I would want! Tongue

Thank you, next bike build will be with Eddie Sanders 325cc kit. Anyone ridden that?

100% agree, and I'm digging the original plastic's. Both bike's belong in the Kick A$$ smoker's section.

100-120......I replaced the first piston at 60....all good, the cylinders are steel sleeved, so I sent it out and had it nikasled(sp?) So I don't have to worry about oversizing etc....it's no 450 but I can leave it 3rd on most tracks. I'm just an ol man trying to have fun, and scare myself from time to time.

Bike looks awesome! I personally think the 2004 is the best year they made.

I am working on a 2004 offroad build as well, should be finished in a few months.

Yes in many ways but it will be set up specifically offroad and trail riding so a bit of a different part spec. I am messing around with a few different ideas for the suspension components and chassis setup but I haven't decided on exactly what I want to do in that department just yet.

So swing arm, or rear arm is just polished with no paint? Looks good. You used what to do the polishing?

What radiator did you go with, and where did you get it? I have an 02 yz125 and the one that I bought off ebay didn't fit so I had to return it. The fittings at the top were too big and I couldn't get them to fit, and at the bottom the right radiator wasn't bent right and didn't fit like it was supposed to.

I used one of these in nylon, even removes paint if you dont have acces to sand/glassblasting.

I bought GPI Radiators of Ebay, they fitt well. I bought a set to an Yz450f before and those also fitted well.

Cool. Biltema (a shop in Sweden) rules! I wonder how this will look after a while though? Especially for a guy like me that carries the bike on the hitch, and soon salt and snow will spray the rear of the car! Sick
