After being off a bike for 10 years, and owning a variety of Hondas before that time, It felt natural to pick one up again. As far as projects go, this particular bike is a decent base but was robbed of performance by some lack of upkeep.

What was immediately wrong:
- The radiator hoses appear to be AutoZone;
- The fuel line was the same;
- Overflow and drain hoses were all clogged and rotted;
- Rear wheel missing a spoke;
- Throttle tube cracked;
- Clutch cable fraying;
- Pipe to silencer did not have proper connection. The silencer was simply jammed into the pipe.

I'm pretty poor at remembering to take progress pictures. But at this point, you're not missing much. Here is how she looked when I got her home.

Since removing the engine, I'm beginning to turn to cleaning the frame. Today was just degreaser, toothbrush, Scotch Brite, repreat. I'll be looking into acid washing more this week.

Radiator hoses are different and just on the one year 03 The 02 and 04 use the same hoses that are different.

Not much has happened as of recent.

The engine was shipped out yesterday. It'll be broken down and rebuilt. The bike has a Tom Morgan 134 cylinder and head and those will likely be replaced with an OEM cylinder and head.

Fork and shock are off next. I've never ridden KYB before, but a man who used to do my suspensions years ago was excited about getting his hands on them. We're looking at a revalve and contemplating the idea of anodizing the upper tubes.

Hard parts I plan to order shortly:
Wheels and hubs (considering Tusk, but need to research more);
Pipe and silencer -- no nickel coating though;
Plastics;
Replacing certain bolts and nuts;
All new cables and brake lines;
steering stem, swingarm, wheel, and linkage bearings

Forgetting some things I'm sure. I'll start documenting more once the motor gets back and the rebuilding begins.

Here is the crate used to ship the engine. I found it at Wal-Mart and it seemed to fit very well.
