The Shop
Went ahead and got the engine out of the bike today. Tomorrow I’m going to take apart the engine and see what’s wrong with the transmission…
So it looks like the 2nd and 6th gear are worn out and that’s what’s causing the problem.
Also I found a tt thread with the same issue. https://www.thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1002849-rm-125-wont-shift-into…
The guy also bent the spring on the shift assembly to add more tension so I might do that too.
Got the bike all back together, but now it’s running like crap. It’s shifting smoothly, but when I get on the gas it just start chopping out. Anyone know why this is happening??? It was running good before I took it apart again. I didn’t touch the carb or the top end at all.
