Hey guys, I am building a 2002 YZ125 with 46millimeter open cartridge forks . I live in Southern California and I only ride the tracks out here. I am planning on racing C group. What should my gold valve shim setting be? I am 5’10 and 165 pounds.

You should have access to the stacker program as part of the GV purchase. Or a sheet in the paperwork that talks about selecting what stack to build.

That said I've found most Novice riders like the dual stage setup over a single stage. Gives some plushness to the slower speeds the novice travel at (they hit more bumps). Just note that valving doesn't solve everything, spring for your weight and valving for the speed you travel. Oil height is how you tune bottoming resistance and those old KYB cartridge forks with the elastomer bottoming setup do well to be swapped out with a hydraulic style bottoming cone setup similar to what was found in the Kawasaki version of those forks. For your speed it will probably be fine but if you like to jump a lot the hydraulic setup is the better way to go IMO.

Welcome to forum, Sal. Glad I dragged you on here 😂

Stoked she went together solid 👍 looks like you did the assembly right based on the pics you sent.
