2001 kawasaki kx 250 light restore

Picked up this kx 250 a while back. The bike is finished and actually sold before i rode it. Just posting the pics now. I wasnt intending to sell it but had an offer from somebody that needed a bike and seeing as i have a few other projects in the works, i let it go
Bike was running when i got it, every bearing was smoked, fork/ shock were leaking. Bad water pump seal was mixing antifreeze into the gear oil. Bolts in place of the foot peg pins, rear brake reservoir was wrong and held in with a zip ty. Silencer was bent, laundry list of other things but those were the biggest

Stripped down for swingarm, linkage, shock bearings , foot pegs from a ktm fit pretty well

Ran into a small issue with the linkage knuckle , how long you think they rode this without a bearing?

Tweaked the subframe back straight, sourced an ebay linkage , fresh coat of kawi paint on the subframe, new black rims & excel spokes from faster usa laced to stock hubs, fresh bearings, rebuilt shock, new rotors and pads, a bud racing carbon fiber silencer , new chain and sprockets, chain guide , swingarm slider and a freshie rear tire

Next up is rebuild the water pump

Fork seals& bushings were also done, new clutch & throttle cable, bars/ grips, replaced some pipe orings and cleaned up the existing fmf pipe

Rebuilt the carb, new vent lines, new front rim & spokes, fresh sneaker for the front. A set of acerbis stock plastics and some 02 replica graphics completed this bike. With other projects going i didnt get too detailed with pics. My original plan was to ride it a bit this year and strip it to the frame and do an RC chevy trucks kawi look but that didnt pan out. I saved a bike , helped somebody out and made a few bucks to finance some other projects. Heres the final product

Awesome build, I bought a new leftover 02 kx250 in 04 for 3700 out the door, what kind of chain is that looks extra gold 👌

Sorry there wasnt much left to them, zip ties and duct tape held them together. I believe i have some parts left over, oem silencer that can be repaired, new steel shifter that came with the bike, new front # plate, used linkage rods and a complete shock rebuild kit
