2000 rm 125 build

Edited Date/Time 3/14/2020 1:34pm
I am the original owner of my 2000 rm 125. I raced it for a few summers in 2000-2002. I then moved from NY to Fl. I had to sell it in 2007. I now live in NY again. I found it for sale on Facebook in Daytona fl. I paypaled the guy and had it shipped to NY. I powder coated the frame and triple clamps in 2002., so I knew it was mine. I have replaced the plastics, cables, grips, fork seals, wheel bearings, steering bearings, and missing hardware. My question is the wheels have beat since new. As soon as I bought it the spokes got loose and would not tighten. So I want to do new rims and spokes. I want excel Takasago. Do I want yellow or gold for my bike color? I think maybe yellow but am nervous it will be the 2001+ yellow, not the 2000- color. What do you guys think?

I think either would look sick
I think if the yellow is Suzuki yellow for 2001 and up, it will look like I tried to match it and missed the mark. The gold does not look like a match was tried. I wish I could put each wheel up to the bike.

Looks great. I am in the middle of a 2000 RM125 restoration, so interested to watch this build

Now these Y2K bikes are old school. They are tough to get parts for. It was cheaper to powder coat my wheels than buy em.

Where did you find that seat cover?

I don’t know where that cover came from. The plain black one on my bike came from parts unlimited. It was like $40

Well since primal x graphics screwed me and would not refund, I cut the yellow parts off. Then I installed the non yellow parts. The tank graphics were for a 250 not a 125, so no part of that fit, the number plate was for a 96-98 not a 2000. So I really had to cut them up. I really can’t believe how terrible they were, especially for $250. But I think the bike looks good.
