1998 YZ125 with 38MM carb?

Helping a friend finish up his 98 YZ125 and he has a 38MM lectron to put on. We tried to use the boot from the 01 YZ125 which I believe is the first year 38MM, The boot is discontinued and can't get my hands on it even working at a shop. The boot from a 04 YZ125 still is avaliable (Assuming the 04 also used a 38MM carb), Would the 04 bolt pattern line up to the 98 cylinder?

It might fit not sure if the angle is the same
That's where it's possibly different. hotfootmoto makes a reproduction of the 01 intake boot.

Heat the boot up or boil it in water and slam it in there. I ran a Keihen 38 Air Stryker on my 97. You will have to play around with pilots and mains. Think I ran the DDJ needle. Makes the bike pull a little harder up top
