Very sweet build! Turned out great. Sorry you had some issues. As I read the first page saying you used a Wiseco crank I thought this is not going to end well......page 2 and you have a hole in your cases. Just an FYI as parts manager at a shop we refused to sell many Wiseco products due to failures like that. Every crank we sold failed within 10 hrs. My 02 CR250 is the one that made it 10 hrs. Each time I went to bat for my customers Wiseco paid for their entire rebuild parts and labor. They had to replace 2 sets of cases and replate several cylinders, but they did it after a lot of phone calls and threats. Funniest part was the guy I dealt with each time was the same guy and would deny deny deny.......each time I reminded him of who I was, who I worked for, and gave him past RA#s before he’d start coughing up for repair costs. They paid though.....

Yeah the original build on the bottom end was about 6 years ago. I had no idea about Wiseco cranks quality at that time. I estimate the crank had about 7 hours on it when it came unglued last year.

I knew this time but couldn't find a side case I needed so thought I would get a few more hours on it while looking for the case, and then would replace both case and crank. As the saying goes if I only knew then what I know now lol. OEM only cranks from now on, or have it rebuilt.

Thanks, we were just out at Nocona last weekend and only 4 bikes out that day. Pretty much had the track to ourselves.

Is Nocona still open? That place had some hige step downs back around 04. Probably normal for today’s standards but back then they were big.

Yes it's under new ownership. Leroy passed a few years ago and was closed down for awhile. I miss that guy, However the new owners are making some upgrades to the track. They put in some small stands and covered seating and an outside type of shower. They also made some changes to the track but it's still almost the same layout.

The 07 125 crank from Honda will work in these motors as we. Honda one cranks are cheap.

It's polisport I got it off ebay. All red not the orange red or whatever that other color is. Front fender and front number plate is off 2009 crf250r and the white rear I ordered somewhere else don't remember where, but it was for the 1998.

He used different plastics. White rear fender (probably UFO stock 98). and a OEM 09 front fender and plate (From Honda). if your trying to match this color for the rest of the bike you want (90698) Polisport..

On to ordering parts here is the list.
Stem bearings
swingarm bearings
linkage bearings
shock bearings
axle bearings
new plastics went with 09 crf front fender and plate
I don't like the newer fenders that bend straight down
new brake lines

chain was new from before so will use it again
new bars renthal 999 I believe
new gasket kit with seals
fly levers
tires mx3's
grips
clutch cable
throttle cable
air filter
Probably more will update if I remember anything else
Ben, Nice job, I love it. I have one I'm just starting to work on for my Grandson. Just did a new top end for now, this winter going to do a full rebuild. Would like a newer looking front fender like you have. Did that 09 CRF front fender bolt up or take any mods? Thanks! Bill

Ben, I'm confused the polisport kit is 60698 which is not for an 09 CRF. Did you buy the kit but go with 09 CRF fender and front number plate and it matched the rest of the 60698 plastics? Thanks! Bill

It bolted right up no mods and the front number plate was a simple install too, maybe had to do something to make it work don't remember but it was simple

yes he polisport was the normal plastic kit for the rest of the plastics that kit has the red color I was looking for verses the odd orange looking plastic. The front fender and number plate was an 09 crf250r and yes it matched perfect
