Over the weekend I found a 1997 CR 125 for pretty cheap. I went to look at it and the guys tells me the clutch is messed up, well I wish that was the case.....
After getting the bike home I went ahead and tore the bike apart. The c clip has came out of the wrist pin, and I'm pretty sure there is a bearing out of the transmission. The motor was locked up until I loosened the nut that holds the clutch basket in. It now spins freely but is really noisey. Good thing parts are cheap for this.
So, the plan for the bike is to build a tribute to the 1994 Honda of Troy bikes. I have sent the frame out to get coated, and I have started cleaning everything up. Out of the 20ish bike I've had the last few years this is the first Honda that I've owned.

Have fun with this build, they are really cool.
Also, I have HOT notes from one of the factory mechanics on the motor setup they were running too

After looking everything over and trying to find some parts, I think I'm going to go a different route with this bike. I built my KX as a bike that a privateer would have rode in 1993, I think I'm going to build this bike the same way. This way I can build the bike how I would have like to have it if I was racing in the mid-90's.
I also split the cases to see what the issue was. I found a destroyed water pump gear and the bearing in the case behind the clutch was split and missing a few balls.
Is the air box from a ‘91?

I ordered a purple and white Tecnosel seat cover from Italy, I'm hoping it shows up next week.
The only parts that I should have left to buy is a silencer, piston and to have the cylinder recoated. I would love to have an old school PC silencer with a stinger for the build is someone has one they don't want an arm and a leg for.
I will decide what color shrouds once my graphics arrive.
I think the two bikes look pretty cool together.
I have a PC Factory pipe that was just vapor blasted and a R-304 Shorty with about two rides on it
It is an extra system for me, I do not need it any longer
