ive just finished up a build I thought id share, I got a call from a pal of mine, saying he had bought a bike, and was having problems putting it back together, so like a fool, I said put it in a box and ill collect and finish, well when I got there, I didn't have the heart to say its scrap, ie to much work to make it worth doing and he isn't the richest of lads money wise, works long hours for little pay and 2 young kids but he is a keen mx guy, he put a jar of coffee in for the long hours I was goin to put in, we chatted and he had little to no budget so I had to save and clean up as much as possible, I started with the engine
so here goes

he couldn't put the cases back together, as he had snapped a shift fork trying, found one new from a friend for next to nothing

the centre gasket what he tried to fit was tore up and broke

so I started with the cases, they were ruff ie thick oil everywhere, loose paint, etc

then I looked at the rest properly, oh my, I didn't realise when I collected that it had been house gloss painted by hand, tank included

so tank first, the fuel tap was missing the oring and they had used silicone sealer which had melted

flatten of the tank after cleaning it up and stripping the paint off, wet and dry in different grades then buffed, it come out ok but not fantastic

the airfilter fell apart, and the air box was ruff
