For this build I'm going to pay it forward. I've decided to raffle the bike and donate the proceeds to Road2recovery. The bike was gifted to me and I can't think of a better way to put it to good use. There will only be 100 raffle tickets at $100 each. **The raffle is over, Thanks to everyone that participated**

The motor is going to be rebuilt and ported for optimal top end two stroke enjoyment. The suspension will be serviced and the front forks will be swapped with CRF showas. The bike will be a replica of Doug Henry's 1993 factory Honda CR125. Too many upgrades to list, stay tuned for more of the build.

I want to thank the companies that have already contributed to the build. throttlejockey.com has helped out with the 1993 team honda graphics, UFO fluo plastics, seat cover and new foam.
Specbolt fasteners sent a hardware kit that has all the bolts needed to get the bike looking fresh.

I'm targeting to have the bike ready for MX rewind at Unadilla this summer and pull the winning ticket there. Please help and spread the word, share and tag anyone that might be interested.

First on the list was to address the many issues with the frame and sub-frame. The frame had some worn out footpeg mounting holes, a missing flange for the pipe mount and a couple snapped 6mm bolts. The sub-frame had the broken front strap that all Hondas seem to get and a rusted out tube.

Before going to the powder coaters I made sure to fit the HRC replica skid plate and weld on the mounting ears.

Throttle jockey delivered with their 1993 Team Honda graphics kit!! They have everything needed to get this clapped out buck and a quarter looking race ready again. The backgrounds have precut numbers for an authentic 90s look.

Every bolt on this bike was rusty, broken or stripped. It was necessary to sort all the hardware and determine what was needed to put her back together. The rear axle was junk, the threads were stripped and the thru hole was tapped for a smaller bolt to tighten the wheel, kinda clever in a cobbed up kind of way. Found a rear axle on ebay, polished the face and had it ready for zinc. I degreased and polished many of the bolts prior to sending for zinc. I also made sure to take pictures of what I was sending to ensure it all came back. Im really happy with the end result of the zinc!! For the bolts that were missing or damaged a Specbolt fasteners hardware kit did the trick.

The frame is back from the powder coaters and I've got the 04 CRF fork tubes ready for anodize.

What did you do to clean those fork tubes up so nice? Maybe blue scotch brite?
There's more to the story, they were a bad ebay experience. The pictures in the add didn't show all the pitting from roost and rocks. I gave them a bath in hot water in lye to remove the anodize and then sanded them down with 400. They are at Alumin art for re-anodize in bronze.

Jerry at Alumin Art is doing the actual anodize in a bronze color, he sent me a sneak peek.
Yeah thats my 96 CR250 in the background, I'm working on some replica HRC frame guards for it. These are available on my website www.eightthreefourmoto.com .

Spent some time working on the swingarm over the weekend. Stripped the anodize with a bath in hot water and lye, then hit it with the hydro blaster. After that it needed some weld repair so I busted out the tig welder and filled in some of the nasty gouges. Unfortunately I ran out of argon and will have to get the tank filled to finish up.

Put the carb in the vapor blast cabinet last night and got her all shiny. Had to sand down the side of the float bowl to remove the pitting that was there. It came out looking OEM.

Finished up the swingarm today, great to make some progress again. It's the small things, that attention to detail. Unbounded MX made some really trick OEM stickers for the build. The Phil Denton Engineering axle blocks are indistinguishable from OEM. Throwing new parts on from great companies like Specbolt Fasteners, UFO plastics and Factory Links bearings.

Don't forget to get your ticket for the raffle, all proceeds to benefit Road2recovery. PM me if you're interested.

Been busy working on some unobtainable parts for the Henry tribute build. I've been making some HRC replica frame guards for my 96 McGrath bike and thought they would be a direct fit to the cr125, the holes line up but the geometry of the guard does not fit the frame well. So I've started to design cr125 HRC replica frame guards, DM me if you're interested in a pair. They fit 95-97 cr125s. I've also been making some HRC replica fork guard guides, still have a couple pair if anyone is interested.

There are still plenty of tickets left for the raffle, DM me if you're interested. All proceeds donated to the Road 2 Recovery foundation to help Todd Dehoop and his family.

Finished up rear linkage, what a job that was. I've never seen bearings this bad, these just didn't want to come out. Eventually I was able to drive them out and press in new ProX bearings! I also spent some time sanding down the cast lines and finishing with a nice brushed look.

Who did you send the old hardware and bolts to for zinc plating? Amazing work, I don't think you could have found a more clapped out bike if you tried!

Thanks man, she was pretty clapped lol. I sent the hardware to http://www.barrettplating.com , they do good work at a fair price. You pay by the pound, so if you have more than one bike it saves money to send it all at once. Or split it with a buddy and send both your bikes. You will have to sort out what goes where when it all comes back though.
