Does the other side of the coil mount not need to be sanded down to bare metal? I did on a past build, but didn't really know if I should have or not.
The Shop
IF... I may make a few suggestions...
1. torque wrench
2. if using the tape to tape the end of the fork, go ahead and wrap past the ed of the tube, as it may damage the seals.
3. Grease / oil the o-rings before assembly. In my experience, they go together more easily with less chance of damage.
4. When removing the fork cap, DO NOT tighten the upper clamp. Tighten the lower clamp and leave the top bolts loose. The upper clamp bolts being tight is what helps to hold the cap on.
Keep up the great videos!
Cheers
Pit Row
And owning (and having restored it myself) a WR500, I can't wait for your WR videos. Hope it's next.
Cheers.
Let's see which is more popular - the WR or the CR?
Of the bike on your list I'd love to see another '93 YZ80 restored. I finished mine a few years ago...
Once the bike's done, theres a couple of vintage dirt bike shows here in Aus that i'll take it too. Then maybe it'll get ridden.
I did a parts bill list a few months ago and nearly had a heart attack.
New vid soon...
Best resto I have ever seen. Your attention to details is unbelievable.
Top notch job
Fantastic build on one of my favorite bikes.
Would you mind sharing your parts bill ?
