Where would you guys recommend getting a complete set of plastic and possible graphics to replicate either the stock or factory 92 KTM 250SX?

I've got one I'm talking to someone about.

Wow, great site JMX82! I was just talking about a 92 KTM yesterday to a friend and the conversation ended with, "But I wouldn't know where to get half the stuff from." It's good to know there is stuff out there.

I’ve built 3 1990s KTMs. Lots of parts are still available from KTM if you look up part numbers. UFO makes all the plastic for that model (90-92 is the same). I see 91 graphics all the time but the 92s are more rare. I’d try Evo-mx for decals and there is a strong vintage KTM group on Facebook. Enduro Klassiker is a great site and there is a old Canadian guy who was the KTM distributor in Canada (Helmut Classen) who has lots of parts he sells cheap.

There was one local to me for $900 in running condition (rough). Had I known the parts would be easier to find I may have scooped it up.

old SX/MX models are definitely hard to find. KTM mostly sold EXCs and MXCs back then. The 125 I built was a EXC that I swapped ignition and everything to make a SX. Very interesting. You say you “swapped out the ignition and everything else to make it a SX”. What do you mean by “everything else”? I may go the EXC/MCX route as well

I started with a 95 125 EXC and I bought a whole 96 SX motor and ignition to use. I’m not sure what all is different besides the ignition, cylinders look identical.I had to swap to a 91/92 subframe and seat to use the older 91/92 sidepanels and rear fender. The tank is the same 91-97 on the 125 (besides color change in 96) so shrouds bolt right up wether you use the 91-92 style shrouds or the 93-97. Lots of KTM stuff is interchangeable. Basically I have 95 suspension with a 96 motor (but motor was changed very little between 91-97) and dressed it up in 91 plastic with 1990 decals and colors to resemble the factory 125 GP bikes of 1990 of Bob Moore and Mike Healey.
