Since these models are pretty hard to find, let alone new parts.
the B engine only shares a few items with the c

Will add photo's as they progress

nos clutch baskets

Thanks
The case set on the 77B is totally different than the 78/79 set
5 speed engine
4 plate clutch basket
space by countershaft for a oil injection pump
crankshaft length on ignition side extension CDI spacer plate

The frame engine mount holes on all the 76-78 RM's are way oversize vs the bolt/ case mount holes so fabricated these 17-4 ss bushings that press into the frames and have the correct i.d. for the bolts

The 78C countershaft spacer's are NLA so i made 17-4 ss replica's to replace the corroded stock left spacer

Relocated the CDI mounts from the 77 to the 78 location
Will be using triples on the 77 from the 78C
need the clearance
Using 79N on the 78 -30mm vs 28 78

I’m anxious to see these finished. I have great memories racing mine. I still have my 78 and it hasn’t been touched since we parked it at the end of 78.

Cool, I see your number 12, one of 78C's I have here has the same #12 on it also from 78 ( rough shape, on side panels, broken front plate from D23 in 78

The 77 frame had 2 hairline cracks in lower frame cradle in same spot both sides, copied gussets from 78 and added to 77 per pic

I am not sure which frame is which, but I remember breaking the frame right there in my 1978 RM80. Looks like you do great work👍

Both frames had cracks
you have to enjoy the casting quality
the tiny S on the cylinder base
the 77 here has the boss for oil injection
and a area on the cdi side for the oil pump drive off of the drive shaft

78 C jug casting, lots of mislabeled parts on the internet
The 78C, 79N castings no boss for oil port
10 mm holes for rear studs
80-81 8 mm holes

They share the same case set/ parts, even with the JR80, but the cylinder is 77 RM80 only
case is from a street bike
