I picked up this special edition Klx140L yesterday for $650. I plan to go through the bike and freshen everything up. The last owner chopped up all the wiring and added a sweet rear fender while removing the number plates for a weight reduction. He lost the front wheel spacer so some washers were added for stability. Choke removed, sprocket cover, extra long fuel line routed outside the frame. Even a little spray paint to complete the mod list.

Why not keep the 85 and put the KLX motor into that frame? That would be kinda cool and give you the best when it comes to the chassis. It would just take some frame mods to slap that bad boy in there. Just a thought

I just don't have the resources to fabricate anything. The kx85 suspension will go onto the klx140L with little modifications.

Correct, my friend just did this mod...hell of an improvement

Are you interested in selling one of those Kawasaki engines? I've had a spare xr 100 chassis looking for a transplant for a while

Well it's finished for now. I decided to wait on the suspension swap. Dirty in the pictures.

I wanted to ride it ill put them on eventually but to have them set up the right way it cost quite a bit especially for a play bike.
