Picked this bike up for next to nothing (with good reason). The thing was totally trashed. Every bearing was just about non-existent, the frame was cracked down by the shock linkage mounts, he only had one radiator with it. This was because he wrecked, trashed one of the radiators and just decided "hell that was probably just an extra one" so he came up with a piece of pipe and removed the radiator and bypassed it....SMH some people shouldn't be allowed to own bikes.. the top end of course was trashed, cylinder had been sleeved and the threads came out of the head studs when they removed them to press the sleeve in. Thats the most of it. There was tons of odd and end stuff that wasnt worth saving. So ive decided to do a complete rebuild on it and make it a fun little national enduro woods weapon. Starting out i pulled the motor, tore it down bought a decent used cylinder and shipped it all off to Tom Morgan. Shes getting REM/ISF treatment on the trans, 144 port and polish for c12 race gas, updating the plastics that i can and Of course every bearing is getting replaced, frame got fixed and powdercoated. Manged to get ahold of an oem set of 06 triple clamps so i can run a Mako360 bar mount and have a better offset for the woods. Also found a nice set of used gold excel wheels. I have a friend of mine with a 3d printer designing anad printing a couple sets of frame guards to protect that pretty new powdercoat since there is no aftermarket ones out there. It will be a fairly slow build but i hope to have it done around march. Here is some before pics and the small amount of progress ive made so far. Should be a fun little bike when its done.
