So I picked up this 2001 Rm125 for $500 off a good friend of mine. He had it completely dissassembled when he called me to come pick it up. At first he asked if I could fix it for him, and I told him I didn't really have time because I didn't want to work on it.... about a month later I got a call to come pick it up!

He was having an issue with the bike going into second gear. You could pull on the shifter as hard as you wanted and it wouldn't budge! He had the engine completely apart when I got it. So I had to diagnose why it wouldn't go into gear. To make a long story short, he had recently purchased from someone who had "rebuilt it". Come to find out second gear was installed backwards on the countershaft! Don't ask me how it went together, but it did!

So I ordered a few new transmission gears that were ruined, and put a new vertex piston in just for safe measure. It didn't need anything after inspection as it was just rebuilt! I put it back together and rode it a few times, and raced it twice as our season in New England is coming to an end! It runs great, and will run even better after a few key upgrades this winter as I clean up and build it!

I'll try to keep the updates flowing! Here are a few pictures!

I put a 2004 style front brake line on and a Brembo Master off of a 2014 KTM. Bear with me as I try to make this post off my phone! Nearly impossible!

And now for the tear down!

I was able to chuck the axles into my drill and clean them up with some 1000 grit sandpaper, and some scotchbrite! They came out awesome!

Off to a good start! Ordered some OEM honda carb vent hoses off a 2002 CR125. (Same carb). I work in a Honda Ktm Husqvarna dealership here in New england. So most of my replacement pieces will be OE honda unless it's specific Suzuki parts.

Picked up my spokes and Rims today! Gonna lace these up to stock powdercoated hubs in a MAG color! Also super jazzed on some elbow grease cleaning the engine, and this sweet Harley wire loom for my stator wires!

So, got the frame and the hubs back from the powdercoater! They came out awesome! I was able to score a set of V-force reeds in good shape off ebay for $50. And I replaced all the bolts/nuts on the engine with OEM honda hardware! Now to collect some plastic pieces, and some misc parts here and there and it should come right along!

Nice trials bike as well.

If you haven't already, but the power valve actuator rod from the 2002. The 01 actuator rubs against the cog and breaks

I got mine from Works Connection. They are listed under RM250 but they will fit on your 125 if the same year. Only issue I had was they have you reuse the pipe pivot bolt and it was too short with the guard on. So I bought a little longer 6mm from my local hardware store.

Here's the one I bought.

Those ones you tagged are for the 04-07 years. Which are still available everywhere. But they do not fit on a 2001-2003. Where the master cylinder mounts is completely different. I originally bought a set thinking I could get them to work but was not satisfied with the fitment even after I modified it!

I got those on ebay. I was at the right place at the right time! They were $50 shipped!

The correct WC part number is 15-337

Well, I finally got the brunt of it done. I still have to go through tourque everything down again, and I have some little odds and ends pieces to put on still. But was too pumped on how it came out, so i figured I'd share.

That is sweet, bro. I rebuilt an '07 and just acquired an '05. The '05 was only in need of cosmetics. It's an Eric Gorr 155 big bore. I'm anodizing rims & painting hubs/frame soon. Here's what it's looking like now:
