Dare Decals is who did my kit for me, he just happened to have a cover laying around you nabbed? Damn nice score

Yes contact them.
They do make it, and the decals to go with it, although not listed on their website.
Some people have struggled to get a responce to email from them in the past.

They wrote back but no deal...

"Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately this isn’t something we could help with I’m afraid. We don’t have the pattern for the 02 model we primarily specialise in pre 2000.
Sorry we can’t help on this occasion.

Nice work on the build.

I got evo-mx to make me some retro 92 decals for my 2016 rmz450. It took a fair while, and what seemed like endless emails. They are slow at replying, and they really need to be pushed along to get things happening. They said they didn't have the profile for the RMZ also, but to their credit, and with a bit of pushing from me, they managed to get it, and get the graphics made. The length of the process made me not really keen to try and get custom decals again, but their products are top quality and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of their ready to order stuff from the website.

They were the standard PC colors, but the only problem was the clutch cover was worn and slightly faded and the ignition cover was brand new, so they didn't match. I found the closest thing I could and painted them. Its weird because it seems like over the years PC has had different colors. The clutch side seemed greenish while the ignition side was more of a brown color right out if the package.

Not to be a smartass. Painting mangnesium is not a good idea if you didnt keep the coating that was on it when painting. Can make the mag corrode at a faster pace and often the paint will just get f upp pretty fast.

The diff colors found on magnesium parts depends on what coating they did. For sand casted magnesium, the DOW 7 or 19 is common, especially back in the days. Today there is more modern and better options for protecting magnesium.

The DOW 7 is goldish in color and is "simply" a di-chromate coating. The DOW coatings where pretty much a first step process for making it possible to paint the coated magnesium part as bare mag is almost hopeless otherwise.

nice build, keep it up!

Thanks for the info, I kept the original coating on there. They weren't stripped or bead blasted in any way. Just cleaned thoroughly.

Jane said "02" Splitfire kit. Did you mistprint when asking for the kit? You want the 2000 kit.

I had the fork tubes powder coated. I honestly didn't want to do that because I felt like I'd be cutting corners on the build, but they were so beat up and I didn't want to buy another used stock set so I just tried it. It turned out way better than I thought it would. It's a temporary thing until I find the real PC Kit forks.

Good luck and have fun with the build. I have a thread on here somewhere of my 2000 PC bike build and I love looking at it sitting in my garage. I have some spare carbon fiber parts, plastics, etc. along with a complete new old stock 2002 graphics kit and seat cover but I'm hesitant to even say that because I'm not prepared to sell anything at the moment.

Regarding the reproduction 2000 kit, I've tried numerous times getting into contact with both Dare Decals and Evo MX unsuccessfully. Dare Decal did email me back at one point to just create some replica number plates for me but I never heard anything back afterwards. Getting an authentic seat cover for the 2000 kit was very difficult. My advice is make as many connections as you can and let them know you're interested in one if they ever hear of one being available.

I also have one of the reproduction seat covers for the 2000 kit that I may be willing sell.
