Part of what makes Weege one of the best is he doesn’t claim to be the best.  He says he’s sitting among some of the best all time aka GOAT and retaining fastest man on the planet and he’s just along for the ride.  He picks up details though that are exactly happening with the action and then the experts explain what happened to cause it.  It’s not easy to quickly see a crash developing and who it is or a pass coming so they all have to figure out who is involved.  Even if it’s not a pass for the top 5 or a star making his way to the front we crave to see replays of any action on the track if someone crashes that could affect the points or our concern for the riders.  Even if it’s not during the race we want to know if/why someone is missing.  If a rider ends up doing well with a good start they owe him a story- RC: that’s nice to see Joey back after only a few weeks with a shoulder plate and I remember those kind of insight details.  Bikes just cruising around the track is boring but multiple analysts are able to debate riders taking different lines and if it’s gonna work or not building suspense and then JS remembering for us if they took that line last time and how if worked out.  JS and RC can help figure out what happened to give us more for our money and then JT can chime in on prep or tire selection in the greater picture of how the race or series is unfolding.  Off the track Weege is just another fan to the riders and fans.  Wil knows the teams and the riders so it’s not awkward to do interviews or updates.

The track was awful!  How can you test the best riders in the world when you design it so 8 year olds can race on it.  Lame!

Few things stood out: 1 -The pace of E.T and Jett- didn't really expect that before hand, but then at the end was like, oh yeah, these dudes are FAF. 2 - The track was ok and will never please everyone so fair play to what was provided. 3 - The T.V coverage was a cast of millions but they just need 2 for the actual races. If they want more there, have them doing pit walks and rider chats between the races. JS is the best in the box. 4 - Weigandt seems to have got very shouty lately - is this just me? Diffy got ridiculed because to he tried to make everything drama filled and oh so amazing, and now its seems JW does it. 5 - looking forward to the next two rounds.

Was it Sheehan that people thought went for too much drama?  ML saw some good talent and potential in Juju.  What would you change with a speedway idea as hard to create a track on like for camping and viewing?  They still had split lanes and berms so I thought it was decent.  Maybe a joker lane like the cups?  NC dirt isn’t easy to maintain.  Deegan proved you can pass.  I got stuck with the pre-race show idea and ads on Peacock and only made it to the first moto so far so yeah maybe too much hype and preview  with similar comments.  Georgia used to hang out and talk to the fans.  JW was a bit 500 rm zilla but that’s his home race.

Paul Malin (MXGP) is the best race caller in our sport. Giving actual lap times as well as session times. He's always talking about the overall for the day and what it means to the riders as far as points are concerned, all while giving the blow by blow. James Stewart, was one of our greatest racers ever, no doubt, but he really isn't that good as a commentator. Most of what JS says never happens, giving him the nick name "The Weatherman". While I'm on it, RC isn't much better. But, has since learned not to make predictions. Both would be great in pre-race shows because they love to tell stories, and they have so many to tell. Story telling is for the pre-race show (Shout out to JB and AC for the best pre-race show I've seen in a while) not the actual race. And, the reason Weege has to shout out is because "The Weatherman" is in the middle of one of his 5 minute stories, and we the viewers have missed the pass for the lead.

Oh how I miss the old MavTV Weege/GL commentating.

I still believe the old Weege is just as good if not better than Malin, but NBC has changed his position to a guy that's not suppose to know anything, that's why he's always asking JS his opinion. When actually Weege know almost more than anyone in our sport, and doesn't need either JS or RC.

Good points. I should clarify that I would only like JS as side kick to Weege - not the only guy in the booth. JS picks up on things no one else does like riding style and bike set up. 

Agree with the comment on Malin. He is great. Shows that one informed and clear commentator can be enough. I do enjoy the times JT makes it over the pond to sit in. That is a good change to add a bit extra analysis.

So I take it you aren't a big Lawerence fan. Seeing the relationship New Zealanders have with Australia. But I'm sure you are one of those as am I, that appreciates Jett's ability to go faster, whenever he needs to. I do believe he's beatable, but I seriously doubt Deegan will be the one to do it.

I am a fan of MX, not necessarily any riders but having said that I do cheer on Jett. He is hard to not like (as a person and I cant understand the hate he attracts) and the skill and talent is amazing. 

Other than when Australia is playing NZ in sport, I think for the most part Kiwis cheer on the West Island bogans.
