Vital Poll: Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing vs. Monster Energy Kawasaki

Monster 450 vs. Monster 450. Blue vs. Green. YZ-F vs. KX. Which bike will win?

Here is the next Vital MX VS Poll. Not the same brand of bike, but lets compare two Monster Energy team 450s. The YZ450F of Eli Tomac from Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha and the KX450SR of Jason Anderson from Monster Energy Kawasaki.

They both have their names on the front fender, just in case they forget which bike is theirs.

On this side of the motor we see FMF vs. PC for the pipes, Rekluse vs. Hinson for the clutches, no coating vs. black coating on the lower cases, and blue vs. bronze cylinder head cover. We can also see they both run rubber grip material on the frame. Tomac's brake tip is fixed while Anderson's is a folding tip.

Tomac is running a cable clutch which is stock on the Yamaha, and a switch for him since his KX450 last year had a hydraulic clutch. Anderson is on Kawi's hydraulic system which is different than his Husqvarna's, but still hydraulic.

Tomac should be pretty comfortable on the KYB suspension he has on the YZ450F since he was on that at Kawasaki. Big change for Anderson going to Showa from WP. The matte black spring and metalic black shock shaft on the Yamaha is cool, but there is something special about that satin metal spring and teal shock shaft on the Kawi.

Both have sweet factory calipers.

They have different brake rotors with the Yamaha a six bolt pattern and the Kawi only using four bolts. The axle blocks are custom and the KX has some carbon rear brake protection while the Yamaha just has some caliper protection and no shark fin.

Just like the shock shafts, the fork lowers have black and teal coating respectively. Hard to beat the bling of teal.

Neken and Pro Taper vs. XTrig and Renthal.

Both teams have the front axle mounted guards.

The FMF system has a lot smaller end diameter than the PC muffler.
