Bell has been building motocross helmets...well, about ever since motocross first made it to the U.S. shores...but they've been busy building helmets for a wide variety of motorsports (and pedalsports) for even longer than that. They made the original full-face motocross helmet (that didn't include a bolt-on football mouthguard), the Bell Star, back in the '70s, and have followed it up with progressive generations of Moto helmets since then.

We recently stopped into their Santa Cruz, California, headquarters, and met with their Sports Marketing Manager, Sean Estes. Sean was more than happy to give us the nickel tour, as well as give us the scoop on some of Bell's history, the details on their Moto 8 helmet, and a close look at the helmet Jeremy McGrath was wearing when he crashed at the McGrath Invitational, as well as a preview of some of what they've got coming soon.
