Vital MX Pit Bits: Thunder Valley

The morning was looking good over at the Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing tent, with both red plates. Jeremy Martin scored the first moto win, but went out with an injury in moto two.

That was a cool fly-over to start the festivities at Thunder Valley.

Time for a different ECU on Adam Cianciarulo's Monster Energy Kawasaki.

With Jason Anderson out with injuries, C-Lo was helping out on bike washing duties and wherever else he could pitch in.

Kristian Ortiz is moving his toolbox over the Space X.

It was cool to see Davi Millsaps back at the races. He's helping out on the training program for Carson Mumford (below).

John Ayers and his crew normally handle a lot of the logistics of the Nationals...track decoration, structures, picking when and where the track needs maintenance, etc. Unfortunately, he went down on his mountain bike days before the race and ended up with a pair of broken legs (among other injuries) Now some of his duties have been handed off to former Yamaha Team Manager, Jimmy Perry, who will keep an eye on the track.

After a tough start to the season at Pala, Max Vohland had a new mechanic in place at Thunder Valley.

Adam Cianciarulo styling in practice.

Dean Wilson checking out video post-practice.

Much like we do, the broadcast crew makes the rounds to check in with the riders. That's Will Christian with Colt Nichols (above), and Jason Weigandt chatting with Adam Cianciaruloc (below).

Michael Lindsay going old school with the towel in Colorado.

Jo Shimoda has been the bright spot for the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team so far this season.

Keeping things cool under the Colorado sun. That's Ty Masterpool's bike.

Hunter Lawrence getting his levers just right.

Jeez. We'll let you guess the front of the shirt. How about we just leave our politics at home and go racing?

After much analysis, we don't see anything untoward on the front of this gear.

After a red flag restart in moto one, the mechanics had to top off the fuel for their riders.

That's a clean look for the Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Suzuki helmets.

Number one on his plate, but number 16 in his heart. Seeing Zach Osborne get reinjured and sidelined is a bummer. The Rockstart Husky 450 crew is starting to look a bit thin.

Hmm...we're not into reading tea leaves, but there sure was a lot of blue in Eli Tomac's gear at Thunder Valley.

It's been an interesting battle atop the leaderboard between Dylan Ferrandis and Ken Roczen so far.

Now that's our definition of a zoom meeting. Trying to figure out how to get faster.

Kenny Adams cleaning up Marv's helmet.

Jagger Craig was getting some airtime in the pits.

Mountain bikes are a common sight in the pits, but especially at this round. Here are a few that we spotted.

The Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing guys have a full slate of (you guessed it) Yamaha ebikes.

Specialized provides the bikes for the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki guys.

Michael Lindsay has a deal with YT for bikes. This one's analog.

You'll definitely see more e-bikes than non-electric in the pits.

Deano getting the full tuck.

The 30-second girls are not quite up to the usual standard this season.

Aaron Plessinger getting his flow on.

Fredrik Noren and Max Anstie dueling in the late afternoon.
