Vital MX Pit Bits: Red Bud 2008 2

Click the following link for the latest news, along with a 24-photo gallery covering Saturday's pre-race action at Red Bud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.

Yeah, and you thought the fireworks were only on the Fourth of July. Here at Red Bud, some of them happened on Friday night. Allegedly, beer and a jealous boyfriend were a bad combo for Jason Lawrence, as another off-track incident (this time a fight) led him to jail, and an exit from his Boost Mobile Yamaha of Troy ride. We’re still waiting to hear what penalties may be handed down by the AMA.

Saturday’s practice was also a bit rough for Team Yamaha fill-in, Sean Hamblin, who crashed and separated his shoulder during the first practice session.

James Stewart was easily the fastest in the MX1 class, followed by Mike Alessi, Andrew Short, Davi Millsaps and Josh Hill who were in the top five. In the MX2 class, it was Ryan Dungey, Ryan Sipes, Ryan Villopoto, Martin Davalos and Kyle Chisholm in the top five spots.
