2014 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross
Round 12 – Utah National

Trey Canard was too much for the 450 field in Utah, and swept both motos, and grabbed his first 450 overall. After a few rough years of injuries, that's a huge win to take into the off-season and 2015. There's little rest for him or the team, though...he said testing starts next Tuesday.

Ryan Dungey did all he could to try and prevent Ken Roczen from taking the 450 title, and finished 2-2 on the day. But in the end, the season stats were all in Kenny's favor.

Ken Roczen was racing hard with Ryan Dungey in moto one, and nearly had a big crash when he tangled with Evgeny Mikhaylov. This photo doesn't show you how Kenny's right hand got yanked off the bar, or how close he came to crabbing the front end, but it was one of those moments that could have turned the championship around. When asked about the incident afterwards he said, "I literally almost pooped my pants."

After that tangle, he wisely decided to back things down a bit. He finished the day with a 3-4 fourth overall.

Let's not forget the overall for the day, with Trey Canard in first with his 1-1 score, Ryan Dungey in second with a pair of seconds, and Eli Tomac grabbing third with a 4-3 day.

Jeremy Martin had already wrapped up the title before the series got to Utah, but he said he found a rear shock setting that helped him out, and he was all alone out front on the way to a 1-1 day.

Blake Baggett had a solid day with a 3-3 score, which not only gave him second overall for the day, but cinched second in the series. Here he's dicing with Marvin Musquin.

Cooper Webb had been second for most of the series, but a mechanical at Unadilla dropped him into third spot. After a second in moto one, he and Blake Baggett were tied for second in the title chase. Unfortunately, Cooper said he ran out of energy about 25 minutes into the moto, and Blake Baggett got by him to finish ahead on the day, and the year.
