Andrew Short had the early lead, with Mike Alessi in tow, but Mike went down and was unable to continue.

Cole Seely was very aggressive early in the main (remember, it is a Honda-sponsored event), and he tried to work his way inside Ryan Dungey, but he went down himself, instead. Trey Canard had also gone down on the start, and worked his way from last to sixth at the end.

Eli Tomac and Blake Baggett (along with about five other riders) battled for position up front, but they ended up in second and third, respectively. That's Blake's first 450 podium.
