2007 Amp'd Mobile Supercross Series: Detroit Photo Gallery and Results

A new champion was crowned Saturday night in Detroit, after Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki's Ben Townley finished second in the Supercross Lites main event. He made up a three-point deficit to Boost Mobile/Yamaha of Troy's Ryan Morais, and nabbed the 2007 Supercross Lites East title. In the early going it looked like it would be a battle to the finish, with Morais in second, and Townley circulating in fourth place. But unfortunately, Morais stalled his YZ250F, and dropped to tenth spot. While he restarted and charged back to fifth place, Townley had enough of an advantage to take the crown.

In the Supercross class, it was all James Stewart, when he grabbed the holeshot and led every lap on the way to his 11th main event win of the season. His Monster Energy/Kawasaki Teammate, Timmy Ferry, was in second spot for much of the main event, but he was displaced by Chad Reed (San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Yamaha) three-quarters of the way through the 20-lap main event. By finishing eighth or better next weekend's main event in Seattle, James can clinch the Supercross-class title. �
