Bike looks amazing dude, good job. Any before pictures?
Parts are looking awesome man!
Merry Christmas guys! I realized I never posted photos from the original build, but now figured it was a good time to share at the conclusion to this post.
Looks good man! I thought the same thing and had my shock spring painted, I didn't like the original yellow.
Last thing I can think of...is it possible I need more piston/wall clearance because I have a fast-expanding forged piston mated with a slow expanding sleeved cylinder? I'm wondering if the marks I'm seeing are signs leading to cold seizures, despite ... more »
Alright I removed the power valve shaft and found a piece of rubber to plug the bearing. Held it at 5 psi for over 3 minutes with no leakage, and sprayed plenty of soap water around the thing. Seems like no issue with leaks. I think at this point I'm ... more »
Thanks for all the help. You can't really see it in the picture, but I have it going like this basically: case > gasket > Vforce > gasket > plexi > insulator. But yeah this still doesn't catch any leakage between the insulator and reed ... more »
The soap check is what I wanted to do but the PV leakage prevents me from doing that effectively. I can't build up any pressure it all, it just leaks right out. And that was just at around 2-3 psi when it started hissing. I didn't want to bring the pressure ... more »
I could run down to the local hardware store and see what I can find. For what it's worth, I didn't notice any leakage out of the intake gaskets with my current setup which at least clears the V-force reeds but not my insulator boot. Though I can't do ... more »
Love how you labelled the needles for each bearing, pretty sweet! Looking forward to the build.
I've checked the top and bottom of the cylinder, as well as the mating surface on the head with a flat edge and didn't notice any discrepancies. As recommended, I did the following: Compression test read ~165 psi while cold. I don't know the hot value
I've got the R13700KA needle and have it on the 3rd clip (richer side). I could go richer on main and pilot as you suggested, but I'm already spooging quite a bit while in the pilot circuit. I haven't taken it into the main yet. Unfortunately the previous ... more »
Really looking to get some advice guys, if anyone can help out! Thanks.
Yeah I actually upped the main & pilot but only one size larger from before. I pulled the head off, seems to be plenty of lube in there. I feel like I'm running it pretty rich at the moment, but this would all be from idle to 1/4 throttle, I haven't
Tell me about it man, I just can't seem to catch a break on this damn bike. I'll pull the head and post pictures tomorrow so someone can educate me on what's going on and if it's normal.
I didn't want to have it welded and potentially cause more damage so I got some thermosteel epoxy and went at it. Also noticed there was another leak out the back side by the joint that was spraying the engine and frame. See the size of that hole?
Don't need to go over the details of the drama over this bike for the last 3 months, but I'm back again getting this thing done. Trying a Wiseco piston this time around:
Part 2.
Dude your videos are incredible, thanks for sharing!
Looking good dude!
