Reply to Looks Like Ralph Is Out... 1/6/2021 12:56 PM

Well I'd like to commend Ralph for the effort at least, but he just wasn't a great fit for the sport. Feel bad for Ricky though... I mean who else are we gunna complain about now that Ralph is gone

Such a steal right? Meanwhile I just signed up to DAZN to watch all of their upcoming boxing matches and a ton of archived fights for the grand sum of £1.99 a month. I wonder if people will still give me shit for saying that I'm happy to search for free ... more »

They aren't. Like not even slightly.

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/4/2021 5:51 AM

I'm talking about the faces of sports list in the original post.

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/4/2021 4:49 AM

What do all those names on that list have in common... They compete in the sport. TP199 doesn't. Of course it can be disputed in many sports, but until you can give some proof that any current rider in the sport is nearly as popular or has the same reach ... more »

It's pretty simple really, the most famous person in the sport would be considered the face of it, as you can tell by the list. I don't know why you seem to think this means an ideal representitive or a "poster boy." Certainly you wouldn't say McGregor ... more »

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/3/2021 5:29 PM

That's not what I said... I said that would be the kind of person who could become famous outside of the sport, whether it's good or not, and besides the question isn't who makes a good poster boy for the sport, you seem to have entirely made that up ... more »

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/3/2021 2:19 PM

Not sarcasm, this is one of the bad-ass, intense, hardcore sports out there and the riders should be free to reflect that instead of biting their tongues and talking like businessmen, even if it doesn't go down well with some...

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/3/2021 2:07 PM

Definitely. I think if there was a good looking version of J-Law today who had a good grasp of social media they would be able to gain a huge following and become semi-famous. The riders now are too buttoned up, they need to take a page from the guys ... more »

You're right, and if the question is who is the most popular guy associated with the sport then Pastrana has to be mentioned along with Stewart, but I guess that's not how I interpreted OP's question.

And I'd put RC's career ahead of Dungey's in terms of accomplishments, but he's clearly not the current face of the sport. I'm not belittling Dungey at all, your reasons for him being the face of the sport are weak. 4 years ago he was, not anymore.

Reply to Who is the Face of our sport? 1/3/2021 1:31 PM

Most of the general public know Pastrana as the crazy double backflip guy, if you google his name it just says "American stunt performer," I'm sure many people don't even know that he used to race. How can you choose someone to be the current face of ... more »

One of us that states our opinion and disagrees with something? Well sorry bro... it doesn't take anything away from Dungey's career to say that he never had the personality or riding style to become super popular. The Wheaties box was 5 years ago, and ... more »

No-one has transcended the sport like Bubba did and I doubt any of the current riders will become a mainstream name like him. But if we have to choose who is the current "face of the sport" it has to be Ken, who has well over a million instagram followers, ... more »

Very strange incident. What's even more strange is when the warning message is played backwards you can hear something with the words "Merry Christmas" in it as clear as day. The motive is just confounding, it was a big ass bomb yet he didn't want to ... more »

The guy the thread is about clearly doesn't steal bikes does he... He has plenty of money like many of the other guys you see doing this stuff on youtube. So your comment is totally irrelevant and unnecessary. By saying "these losers" you're still implying ... more »

I agree that wheelie boys can put a bad taste in people mouths about dirtbikes, but what irks me is that every single time theres a wheelie boys thread you have a bunch of guys here who automatically jump on them as being thieves riding stolen bikes. ... more »

That's the level of commitment he had, he clearly had it in his head all lap that he was going for it, and the fact the he messed the corner up probably didn't even register at all. That right there is just a great little example of the mindset that ... more »

Suprised at the lack of K-Roc in this thread, he'll be coming in rejuvinated after a much needed rest. I mean really, AC, Sexton.. Mookie!? Over K-Roc? C'mon now! Anyway, I would play it safe with him Tomac and Webb.

I don't follow amateur stuff so I'd never saw much of Ferry's kid before, seems like a cool kid, and super fast too. I'll go out on a limb and say he'll probably be even more successful than Tim was.
