I missed that thread. Yes, October Sky is a great movie. I've seen it several times. Most movies I've seen that are based on true stories have been good, one of my favorite types of movies.

Have you seen the movie "I Can Only Imagine"? Not my type of music but thought it was a real good movie.

I wish I could unwatch that. I'll never understand.

We use these screws and a bit comes in each box: http://www.spax.us/ Home Depot carries them but I am not sure if they have all the products. We only use the cabinet ones, they work great.

Great video, glad to see something like this out there. A close friend, who is also my accountant, tells me all the time that I'm the smartest uneducated person he knows. I guess that's a compliment. 20 years in business now as a general contractor and ... more »

Wow, I guess like everything else they have doubled in price over the last ten or so years. I paid $838.95 for a brand new 2005 in June of 2006. Same bike as far as I know. I still have it, maybe I should hold on to it!!

I second the suggestion about learning a trade. The one I recommend most to young guys is HVAC Technician. Where I am, I believe it's a 6-month program to get an HVAC Tech certificate from the community college. The company that does all my HVAC work ... more »

It's been a long time since I've heard the name Carlo Coen, but that brings back some good memories. He was the first 2-digit pro (I think he was #69 or so that year) I saw ride. My first race ever was at Ace in 1994. John Dowd was the first top level ... more »

Yeah, it might be different up there. NC bases their code book on the IRC (International Residential Code), which I imagine most areas of US do the same. I don't see a problem with a receptacle being there (especially on a GFCI circuit), there isn't ... more »

Completely allowable by code, we do it all the time (on a GFCI branch circuit). Some disposals are hard wired, others plug in. We also put the switch for the dishwasher (required by code) under there. Newmann, sorry to see that, that's terrible. Best ... more »

I believe that's an instant water heater on the left, a water filter to the right of the disposal, and an air switch for the disposal to the far right.

I second the Insinkerator, my plumber highly recommends them and it's all we use if we supply one. Haven't had a problem with one yet that I know of.

The code here says you can do either or as above. We do about 10-15 kitchens a year and my plumber has always done the loop inside the sink cabinet. I have never seen it done any other way.
