"the Dunlops weren’t completely fresh like the Hoosiers were, but they weren’t roasted either." - Great experimental design. Lets go through all the trouble of a comparison video, and skip the part where you use brand new tires.

Not wanting to bash anyone with this comment but I have been noticing less and less "tech" content in the Pit Bits. I used to come to see factory bike close-ups, details, technology but I feel like lately, this has been giving way to more practice/riding shots.

This is correct, a lubricated bolt will provide a higher clamping force per a given torque than a dry bolt will. That said, if a torque spec that is intended to be used with a dry bolt is used with a lubricated bolt, it can lead to a bolt tightened past its yield point (ie it's junk). This is something that really should be specified in the service manual but almost always isn't. Consider though that a loose bolt will fail in fatigue much more quickly than a tight bolt will, so you're better off being on the tighter side than the loose side barring yielding.

"What people might not realize is that a tubular swing arm pivot has more flex resistance than a solid swingarm pivot bolt."

A solid pivot bolt will be stiffer than a tubular one so long as they're the same material. Maybe he means specific stiffness? The hollow bolt is a lot lighter than the solid one and only a little less stiff since the material in the middle doesn't add a lot of stiffness relative to the material on the outsides.

If you want to say it that way, yes Dowd from 1990 on a 250 smoker would be a lot faster than that. Or Jojo from 1985 on a CR250. I’m not trying to be anything but accurate, this kid looks more like a 250 (450) amateur not a pro in that sand.

I grew up racing with and watching Dowd, Lorusso, Keith Johnson and other New England guys and I will say that this sand video is not impressive. Dowd in his prime would lap this kid in 3 or 4 laps. And Jojo Keller back in the day... forget about it. Ask Hannah about Jojo on a track like this. Jojo had several tracks like this in Plymouth he could ride to from his house.

No offense Klinger, but there's no such thing as supplements specifically made for a sport and because of that Ryno Power is far from being one of the biggest players in the supplement industry.

It's popular in moto because of its connection with Ryan Hughes and the fact that they sponsor quite a few riders. If it wasn't associated with moto there's a high likelihood that you wouldn't even have heard of it.

MuscleTech, ON/Optimum Nutrition, BSN, Universal Nutrition, Gaspari Nutrition, CytoSport, etc. are all way bigger names than Ryno Power will ever be.

I'm not saying they don't have good products, I'm simply saying that they aren't high up on the list of top companies in the supplement industry.

Doing a little more research before writing/posting an article wouldn't hurt.

Also, I'm sure the company would appreciate a direct link to their website. In this case, Ryno Power.

Sir

Seems to be a lot of justifying going on in this review. An $1100 exhaust should not need reusing of standard hardware and if anything should come with nothing but titanium hardware of its own. A smidge over two pounds weight saving is hardly anything to crow about especially consider the cost and to top it off it made the bike rev slower. Oh dear.

5% increase in power isn't enough for the slowest bike in class. Equates to about a 2hp increase. Bike looks good though.

Oscar Wirdeman made perfect sense when talking about the fact that it is possible to shave too much weight from a bike. I think the Austrians are figuring that out the hard way this year. When your bike's engine is capable of making 58 horses, one of the last things you want is to have it deflecting off of shit because it's so light. Good review again ML.
