I'm not against solar and I believe we will get there one day, but solar is 100% dependant on the sun, so on cloudy days, at night, rainy days, 0% output. 99% of the solar farms that have popped up over the last couple of years were due to gov tax incentives ... more »

You must top secret tech, or super low usage, cause the technology is not there.

I work in the power industry and several years back, we bought a electric vehicle to reflect the "Going green" initiative. We built a solar charging station for it, but had to covertly run underground utilities to actually charge it as the solar panel ... more »

You have no clue what you are talking about. Solar tech is nowhere near that of conventional power generation methods (nuclear, oil, and to a very small extent, coal). As someone who works in the power industry for over 2 decades, I know what is up.

Not quite an apples to apples comparison, but I get your point. There plenty of sports that don`t involve motors, but they never did. I still don`t see it being nearly as appealing. I can see it adapting to certain types of motorsports like trials or ... more »

I`m with you, i`ve bought more than 30+ used bikes over the years, and probably have got 2 lemons total. If I see some of the stuff people on here have peeves about, that is just a bargaining point. Spoke skins come right off, a full set of new plastics ... more »

Oil doesnt break down after one ride. It is the owners perogative to change at whatever interval that they like, but if oil viscosity breaks down that fast, engines wouldnt last very long. If a modern car can go 7k plus mileage between oil changes, with ... more »

I cannot wrap my head around filling a stadium/arena and watching a bunch of silent bikes ride around a track. I am not against progress, but the idea of only hearing chain noise, no revving engines just doesnt appeal to me, even a little. Motorsports ... more »

I don't doubt for a minute that they are a blast to ride, but so was my neighbors ugly sister, that doesnt mean I want to do it everyday. I just think the quiet, sanitary aspect of them will kill mx racing.

I think the failure of Alta, the LiveWire and the lack of mainstream support for the other E bike upstarts is the writing on the wall. People don`t want a quiet race bike, it is not the same. Its a great idea for the environment, its a feel good for ... more »

I think E bikes will be the death knell of SX and MX. They are great for the environment, great for the noise reduction, but moto with no engine rev will be boring and unappealing AF.

Yeah, bicycles are a whole different story, some assholes will intentionally screw with cyclists, just cause they get aroused by guys in spandex and it freaks them out. Hell, maybe streetbikes too, if they are wearing assless leather chaps.....

I would say yes, too much for a novice, get a 125 2t if you are looking to get a smoker, much easier to learn on. If you have only been riding a few months a 250 will be a handful.
