Last guy's materials ran around a hundred twenty bucks, but his needed a few different shades of blue. I could probably keep the cost around 80ish if necessary. The expensive bit is the clear coat activator. Figure your base colors need around 4oz minimum, ... more »

What is a custom painted helmet? Its artwork. Its artwork because I say it is. Regardless, I don't care. I wouldn't do a red bull helmet for anyone anyway. Moot point.

No its not... Its artistic license and fair use... Andy Warhol wasn't sued by Campbell's, and its how snl can use ligos and brands. Its simply a piece of artwork.

So I have been painting helmets for fun for a year now. Don't want to charge because then its an obligation. Here's how it usually goes... -we agree on design and colors, name and number, logos, etc -i make an Amazon wish list with all the required supplies

Ill design some visor badging this week in the hotel... Itll be ready by the next helmet. Im doing a buddy's fullface street bike helmet next and Im going to use it as an opportunity to learn leafing.

I use a few different kinds of paint... Mainly Createx Auto Air waterbased paint. If its a particular colir that i cant get with the createx, Ill use HoK. I also use HoK for all my striping and lettering. For the clear coat I use KustomShop. Depends ... more »

Im inclined to agree... I overdid it a bit. My main goal though was to do a more complex design than I've previously done.
