Up top there’s a photo of it installed in the bike. It’s in the right direction. Just seems crazy to me that a bike with 46 hours would have cam chain or tensioner issues. Lesson learned! Replace everything!

I agree with you on this one. They do look different! I’m still waiting for a response from Vertex on whether or not I have the right piston.

TT Belgium builds their own assemblies so they can use whatever they want. TT USA uses pre built 09 kx450 assemblies with the blue top caps. Same part different color.

I used to work for Technical Touch. The spring conversion uses 09 Kawi top caps. The blue ones

That was my first thought. Just seems like to low of hours to have work the chain out. Guess I’ll be measuring everything from here on out even on the basic jobs. What made you say all 4 valves were touching? I don’t think the intakes valves were hitting ... more »

Are tensioner issues common at all on these bikes? When I took it out it still functioned correctly. Anybody know if one tooth off is enough to crash the exhaust valves? I’ve seen bikes with the timing off before but usually they even won’t start let ... more »

Could be possible. But the rod is bent toward the side with broken valves. That made me think the bottom end was fine until the impact but idk.

I threw the old one away before this happened so all I have is photos. I’m waiting for vertex to get back to me to see if I possibly got the wrong piston.

I had a horrible time dealing with them as well. I waited 2 months with no response before I was able to get a response by blasting them on Instagram. They the told me I’d have parts in a week. Another 2 months later I still didn’t have parts so I did ... more »

The great thing about Lanier is if you do have an issue he will make sure it gets resolved and you’re feeling comfy. One conversation with Walther will have you wanting to drop your stuff off with him.

Nope it’s locked up. The bike won’t budge from nuetral it’s gotta have the cases split to investigate.

I know it’s definitely not from landing on the shifter, I’m always on the balls of my feet. It could possibly be from banging down gears coming into corners but that shouldn’t break anything. If these bikes are that weak I should’ve picked a different ... more »

The bike is still stuck in nuetral. I imagine the broken piece is stuck between the gears somewhere. At this point I have to have the dealer split the cases, find the problem and then send pictures to Husqvarna. It will be up to Husqvarna whether they ... more »

Well I finally got it apart. The cases are definitely gonna have to be split as the transmission is still locked up but the shifting assembly had no issues. The dealer is going to try to have Husqvarna do a “good faith” warranty on it once it’s apart ... more »
