WTB - Front fork springs, 41-41.5mm OD X 465-480mm long, .52-.54 kg/mm. A rare combination, most modern springs are 43-44mm OD and too big for this application. Thanks.

Pretty much, yes. Obviously, the stock front fender and number plate will not fit without work, but any Husky/KTM that'll fit the lower triple will. The rear wheels are interchangeable with the right spacers, but the Alta front hub is different from ... more »

Added reply in a thread When does OEM suspension surpass Factory? 11/24/2017 11:21 PM

Are A-kit tolerances better? That depends on your perspective. Certainly, the tolerance are tighter, not necessary in fit but in final dimensional terms. For example, I’ve seen many A-Kits with bushing to tube tolerances LARGER than OEM stuff. I suspect ... more »

There's no "standard" or universal measuring stick for rating suspension, it typically boils down to rider preference. Therefore, you'll need to define what you consider "BETTER".

Professional freestyle will never be the same! Too bad there's still no AMA legal class. https://motocross.transworld.net/news/nate-adams-family-fmx-future/

What size are the upper tubes (older model 52s are 3mm smaller, 57 vs 60mm I think).

Added reply in a thread Alta Redshift Fast Charger? 11/9/2017 1:20 PM

The only way to charge a cell faster (500 cells in this case) is to apply more current. Li-ion cells are very sensitive to charge current and final charge voltage. Too much, too fast, and they will sustain irreversible capacity damage. Of course, EVERY ... more »

I'm getting about 5.6 for a spring rate. Too stiff for me, unfortunately.

Can you measure the spring wire diameter and the outside diameter of the coil at both seats? I can figure out the rate from that.

All the weight saving stuff was probably kept along with the non-proprietary hardware. I'd make sure the top end was pulled and replaced with mildly modified stock, the fork and shock internals swapped out with std A-kit parts and any electronics pulled. ... more »

Added reply in a thread New double stroke design 11/5/2017 1:32 AM

Not quite correct. Once the exhaust port (2 stroke) or the exhaust valve (4 stroke) cracks open the high pressure cylinder gasses start rapidly propagating down the exhaust system. In both cases, the piston is actually moving down the cylinder on the ... more »

Added reply in a thread New double stroke design 11/4/2017 7:46 PM

It's a two stroke so depending on the volumetric efficiency curve it could make really good power. The cylinders never see vacuum (or at least not much) so they need the supercharger to provide a positive pressure differential all the time. That'll certainly ... more »

Buy a few sizes larger pilot jets and remove the air screw cap so you can adjust it. Those little bikes are jetted so lean for emissions it's ridiculous. Add a really good inline fuel filter as well, the smallest piece of debris can clog those tiny jets. ... more »

Neken non-adjustable triples. 22mm offset using KTM front wheel and Cone Valve forks. Originally designed for a KTM, so I assume the center to center dimension is very close to stock Alta 4CS forks. Neken probably makes clamps for the 4CS as well. Note: ... more »
