LOL clearly I am suffering from that illusion of time going faster when you get older....it still seemed like it wasn't enough time. Or maybe I just thought it was weird and arrogant of someone to be the first one to take it. By the same token, I love ... more »

While I don't agree with the OPs proposal, I do think there is room for improvement when it comes to respecting the greats. Seeing Baggett pick up the 4 so quickly after RC, quite frankly, seemed stupid. How about this: When single digit permanent number ... more »

A V Force or RAD Valve will get you a hair more power too if you don't already have one. My experience with a RAD valve on a 250 was that it boosted the mid/top, which seems like something you could benefit from. Personally I'd chase porting and pipe ... more »

Added reply in a thread Ryan Dungey on the Whiskey Throttle Show, with Ryan Villopoto co-hosting 9/22/2021 2:04 PM

That was a great show and a lot of fun to listen to. Having two rivals catch up after retirement makes for a really interesting experience, sort of reminds me of that old campfire video with RJ and Wardy, and there was another video I can't remember ... more »

Added reply in a thread Reed local tracks. 9/21/2021 5:58 AM

The name of the track he is partnered with is called Moto40 MX, it's in Statesville NC a little north of Charlotte. I haven't gotten a chance to go there since they re-did it but I'm sure it's good. Having Reed around is definitely cool and sort of surreal. ... more »

Added reply in a thread Unpopular Opinion: Pulpmx Show Wrap-up 9/19/2021 8:20 AM

Maybe I'll give it a try again, but my first experience was that after I listen to 4-5 hours of Pulp each week, I don't actually need to rehash what was said for even longer. I guess if I didn't have time to listen to the regular show it would be cool. ... more »

Added reply in a thread FIM looking for SX World Championship promoter? 9/18/2021 7:53 AM

I think there could be some interesting downstream effects of a credible FIM SX series. 1) If some of the top MXGP guys are enticed into running the series, they would end up splitting their time the same way the US guys do. Does this close the outdoor ... more »

You shouldn't be too far from Moto40, that's the track that Reed is involved with. https://moto40.com/ Also I'd guess you are less than two hours from ClubMX and SOBMX in SC. Club has a public practice track that is pretty sick and always perfect prep. ... more »

1- I thought it was way hypocritical, as others had mentioned, to take Steve to task over Cheech and Chong and then defend the more recent clickbait content as "entertainment." Not to mention Pulp was pretty much in it's infancy when the Cheech and Chong ... more »

Added reply in a thread Favorite Moto Movie Scene 9/8/2021 5:50 AM

I know it isn't the greatest movie ever, but I liked the scene in Bennett's War where he drops the wrench on hit foot, the feeling comes back, and 10 minutes later he is firing up his dirt bike to try and ride again. Anyone who has ever met a motocross ... more »

Jeff goes out to do his job and gets booed, he's probably thinking "eff me, it's Vegas '95 all over again!"

I thought he did a great job and I really enjoyed hearing him again. Add that to the epic Loretta's rides on the 150 and this is turning ... more »

I was at Daytona vintage this year too... and to bring it full circle....on my '87 125 LOL!! Our vintage MX scene here in SC is hurting. But I don't have the energy to start my own splinter organization. Oh well.

Man I like your style with those white and red YZs - my 89 YZ 125 was one of my favorite bikes ever, I bought it brand new when I was a kid! I like the track revisions at 101 but I hate the fact that they hardly ever open it. I'm probably going to hit ... more »

Doing well Jeffro, thanks for asking!! I miss the vintage scene and my moto friends in the PNW, but other than that I'm loving the moto here in the Southeast!

Sold my restored '87 CR 125, this forlorn 03 YZ followed me home last night. I think I'm going the YoT route with this one. Must.....ride.....125s!!!!

Added reply in a thread Weighing my options for vintage -- 99-01 vs 02-04 YZ 125s 8/26/2021 1:30 PM

Thanks guys! Okay, so it sounds like not really a penalty if I go with the older one. Right now in my market people want every bit as much for them as the 02-04 generation. An 03 RM 125 is now on the market and in contention as well. I find it intriguing, ... more »

Started new thread Weighing my options for vintage -- 99-01 vs 02-04 YZ 125s 8/23/2021 3:59 PM

I'm looking at both 99-01 YZ 125s as well as 02-04. I'm going to use it for occasional AHRMA racing in Millenium class, but also plan to ride it regularly as a "cross training" bike for a break from my four stroke. I owned an 04 for a while and loved ... more »

Added reply in a thread Tell US, About The Most Unconventional, Most Unusual Bike, You Ever Raced ? 8/10/2021 12:41 PM

Probably not super rare, but I got to race a friend's 81 YZ 125 in a vintage race a few years back, the first year of water cooling. Having that radiator and water weight out on the front felt a bit strange in the air, but I do think it helped the bike ... more »
