I had recently picked up a 2007 RM125. It was very much ride-able but being in the midst of the season and not being able to ride for the past 6 months I just wanted to do a refresh on this bike for now and throw on some simple upgrades to make it look

I have found using that is indeed best on both the swing arm and engine case just by hand. I tried using a cross buff pad on an old swing arm for another parts bike and it seems to harsh.

Yea thats the great thing about dirt bikes and motocross. Riding in off road conditions much wear and tear will apply to the bike so getting them to function is number one priority but cleaning and making it look nice ahould come second and with all ... more »

Ok thanks. Is it possible to use a rotary tool like a cross buff pad? All a cross buff pad is a scotch brite pad but can be used on a air tool

I an trying to make my 2007 RM125 swing arm look good again and I know using sandpaper and scotch brite will help remove scratches both big and small as well a crossbuff rotary tool to help get tougher scratches out and speed up the job. Now when it ... more »

Definitely need to break into the carburetor. Something probably came loose or somehow the throttle cable to not alined or hooked up right.

I have since fixed it, I run 32:1 like the book says. My idle stop screw had raddled all the way out so I screwed it back in and tightened the lock nut and it idles now.

Added reply in a thread Rear shock sag 6/26/2017 5:07 PM

I figured it out, its the wrong shock. Its an 07 but the shock appears to be a 01-03 shock which were shorter.

Added reply in a thread Rear shock sag 6/26/2017 5:06 PM

I have figured as it is simply the wrong size shock. Check the distance from the adjusted screw on each photo. My bike is a 2007 as the shock is a 01-03 shock which featured shorter shocks.

I checked the bearings they seem fine. Is it possible that the rear spring can wear out and that i need a stiffer one to support the back end again? I also noticed in the book the space between the adjustment screw and the bolt hole on the bottom seems ... more »

Wait i re-read it and I think you might be on to something. Maybe my spring is to light and not pushing the read end down enough

Added reply in a thread Rear shock sag 6/26/2017 1:57 PM

When you mean to heavy do you mean to stiff? I am definitely to light for my shock spring i am only 125 pounds but wouldn't a softer spring only make it sit even lower? The problem here is it sitting so low in the rear.

Started new thread Rear shock sag 6/26/2017 12:16 PM

When I lift the rear of my rm125 it only goes so far down and when its sitting it sags extremely low and im way to light for the shock already so it shouldn't be doing this. Does abybody have any ideas? One thing that gets me is how it will only go so

Seems confusing as I cant really mess with it in real life and fully understand the issue but if you simply can not get it any which way I would resort to a mechanic.

Thats another thought I had in mind, I was a bit doubtful though because I can hold it wide and it will start up (of course I let off as it is firing up) I will still clean all the jets and what not as it is a used bike and probably could use it. Another ... more »
