I knew he used DT Swiss wheels, but for some reason thought they were carbon. My bad! I love DT Swiss wheels, but don't love the price tag.

It's not a shitty example. An MTB rim is effectively a thinner, weaker version of an MX rim. They are built to serve the bikes they go with be it ally or carbon. A rim for an mx bike would be built stronger. (It's just the carbon version would be stronger ... more »

In my mind I was trying to get across something along the lines of; if an ally rim gets destroyed then a carbon one may do as well, in which case you're probably not going to care what material the rim was made from. lol. Carbon could flex more meaning ... more »

Not good enough for you? You mean you're better than Aaron Gwin?! I jest, of course. There will be many examples of aluminium rims grenading, yet people don't seem to have any issue with that. I should imagine that once graphene is commercially viable, ... more »

An impact that would destroy a (well built) carbon rim would destroy a metal rim. So your comment is pointless. You may want to look at one of the DH races where Aaron Gwin (I beleive it was) managed to finish a race despite a tyre coming off one of ... more »

Not the best quality pics, I'm afraid. Blame a dark garage and the camera flash. The bike hasn't been ridden since 2003/2004. The proper seatcover is under that black gripper one.

Not sure if you knew, a lot of the grey colours on the sparkplug are actually chrome. Took a picture of my graphics to show you - although it's not the clearest I'm

Looking at these pics, I may have the 1997 version Splitfire graphics on my 95 kx125.

The 8 cylinder head bolts go nicely with the 9 bolts they use on the rear sprockets! haha. TM could save a load of money if they cut down on the amount of bolts they use.

Sounds good. Can't wait to see it. I personally think the Splitfire graphics are the best looking graphics. Would love to get some made for my 06 kx125 that I no longer ride.

No worries. Be sure to post up some pics when you get your graphics done. It'll be nice to see them. LOVE the Splitfire Kawasaki bikes.

I will have a look tomorrow at some Splitfire graphics on a 95 kx125 and post up a pic of the rear fender graphics if you want?

Also, the 2004 models had black frames. See link below. http://databikes.com/imgs/a/c/z/m/q/tm__125_2004_4_lgw.jpg The forks used before Ohlins were Piaoli I believe. Really wish I'd have bought a 2003 TM250 several years ago. Lovely looking machines ... more »

Phenolic brake pistons are used a fair bit with mountain bike brake calipers.
