Over the weekend I tried my hand at coating some parts in Cerakote. After a trial or two on some old parts, I think these turned out pretty good. I can't wait to get everything installed on the bike.
I actually found my copy of the newer MXA where they reprinted the article. My 1 year old son was throwing my magazines across the room and I found it while I was picking them up. I was mad at him until I found the mag.
2001 and 2002 factory race bikes had the silver fender. I read that Red Bull actually asked to have the silver fenders.
A couple weeks ago I purchased a used Rekluse Radius CX for the bike. After I installed the clutch I could not get it to work right, no matter how I adjusted the slave cylinder the clutch drug at low RPM. So after a week of messing with it I broke down ... more »
That's an awesome looking bike. Most of the stuff that I've found has been on eBay or Facebook KTM groups. I agree with the exhaust. I wish I could find a non plated FMF or Doma, at least one that someone didn't want my first born son for. That ignition ... more »
I've rebuilt around 5 bikes. If you can end up getting a good deal upfront, most of the bikes I've restored ended up having 3-4k in them. It all depends on how far you want to go with the build. Most of the bikes I've done are from the 80's and some
I installed the rotor guard last night, the bike is coming along nicely. I have some Cerakote coming, I'm going to try my hand at it. I plan on coating the brake calipers burn bronze. If it works out ok I'm going to coat a few other things.
A few small parts showed up in the mail yesterday. New clutch guard, rear rotor guard, and the carbon fiber fender brace. A few other parts should be here in the next couple days.

The ones that I have stayed in place very well, they have 3 mounting points. The front mount on mine actually clamped to the frame and made the install easier. The picture below is the skid plate I had on my TC 125
P3 makes a plastic skidplate. I have used it on my TC 125 and not my 250. The two that I have had mount easy and are tough. https://p3carbon.com/shop/skid-plates/motoflex/yamaha-motoflex/p3-motoflex-skid-plate-yamaha-yz250fx-15-16/
Slavens makes one for the 300, but according to the website you also have to use a higher compression head. https://slavensracing.com/shop/sx-cdi-unit-for-ktm-husaberg-husqvarna-300/ I think it all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. The ... more »
It doesn't matter if it's an enduro bike or mx. I actually have a 2017 TE 250. I've done a few upgrades on it the last few months. https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Bike-Builds,46/Turning-a-2017-TE-250-into-a-GP-Weapon,1351399
So the bike has been on the back burner for a little bit while I worked on my Camaro. I made a couple purchases today for the bike. I found some cool carbon fiber pieces for the bike I couldn't pass up. I also found a good deal on a FMF pipe, the bad
I used oven cleaner. You have to used the good stuff in the yellow can, not the environmentally friendly stuff. Spray it on and let it soak for about 10 minutes, then I put it in my ultrasonic cleaner. I used this same technique to remove anodizing from ... more »
Over the weekend I decided to remove the anodizing from a few of the bits that I have on the bike, oil fill plug, rear master cylinder cap and extension. The oil cap was starting to wear and look kind of bad. I think it turned out pretty good, makes
I actually just sold a 83 125 KTM to a buddy. He has found everything he needed so far. https://www.enduroklassiker.at/en/ This place has a lot of parts for older KTM's
I had a 2016 TC 125, I sold it when I purchased the 250. I'm thinking about doing the same graphics on the 250, this way it will match my 83 WR250.

So over the weekend I finally got around to installing the TC CDI box on the bike. After adjusting the jetting, I took it out for a spin. All I can say is, WOW! It made a huge difference. The track that I rode it on was sloppy muddy, the bike was too ... more »
