Remove and clean, then if looks ok, reinstall with black oil resistant permatex. Torque valve cover bolts to spec.

You need the fork oil level tool. The mm you will set on the tool and suck with the syringe. Once you stop pulling fluid and start pulling air your are at the correct level.

I did not. It really does look like new though. No corrosion, scuffs, or worn spots. Maybe I should think about changing it too though.

Yup did that. Woodruff key still intact, added a little lube to the shaft and put back on to torque. Thought maybe it wasn't slid on far enough.

Cheapo aftermarket stator. The stator is what I replaced that made it go from zero spark, to spark only once. I will look for a known good oem and try that next.

Part numbers for the 2005 and the 2009 rmz250 clutch cover are different. I believe the check bolt is located near the rear brake pedal bolt on the inner clutch cover. Should have a copper crush washer on it to help identify. Otherwise, drain oil and ... more »

Does U4.4 need to be drained from the fuel tank and flushed from the system when the bike is in storage or when in between rides? Google search seems to bring up different answers and I know there has been different versions of this fuel.

Soft, more forgiving but soft. I would say I felt more in control in the choppy stuff but could definitely tell the front end was diving and made the front end feel nervous. Didn't have any bottoming out at all. Played with oil level too. Not correct ... more »

So I’ve read somewhere that RT calculator is based on using their valving. That they prefer softer springs, stiffer valving. Do you know if that’s correct?

When I'm at the races and see a guy wreck and get carted off in the mule on a backboard and neck collar I guess I find myself thinking "I hope he was wearing a neck brace" Not "Oh I bet he crashed from wearing a neck brace"
