Just so you know; As a young man Gary was one of the fastest racers in New England (Finkleday, Keller, Barber, Meenan era). He then spent many years away from the sport and has recently taken it up again. So he has skills, but was not around for the ... more »

Gazzo, I'm a two stoke guy myself, but if I was still racing often and cared about my results, then a 450 would be my bike of choice. They just make everything easier, and if you're still smooth like I remember, it'll be way less tiring. If you're not ... more »

I clicked the link, do I need to tell my parents I'm gay now? Actually, it was better than I expected. I'm kind of a quad hater truth be told, but those guys hauled the mail!

What a year end for Charlier! I know Everts won motos at the Des Nations, and also the Six Days overall in the same year, but I don't think Belgium won the Nations that year. Is this a first?

You can probably save that shock by using a two part epoxy and new bearing. If not though, shocks from 2002 to present will fit your bike.

I'm aware of this too. I just hope this follows the electronics model where prices drop drastically. More likely though, it'll be just like the four strokes, where the consumer needs to pay dearly for the latest technology.

If we look way back, in the 125/250/500 days, guy's rode the bike they were comfortable on, or the one their sponsor put them on. There weren't people telling Glover or Barnett to move up like there is today. The difference is, that they rode the premier ... more »

The thing is, the sport doesn't 'need' another more expensive option. The sound part, or lack there of, could help with gaining land access and keeping grumpy neighbors quiet. But it keeps coming down to dollars in my eyes. If this thing was sub 5k could ... more »

Still to this day, Bob is one of the best interviews in the sport. He is smart, opinionated, and confident. He's the same person now as he was then, the same person off the track as he was on. You'd never hear him tip toe around a question or try to ... more »

Reply to Broken shoulder blade symptoms 9/18/2017 10:51 AM

Don't do it. I set myself back quite a bit and ended up in a bunch of pain because I figured I could ride a road bike while recovering. In the second week I went out for a ride, it felt good and I had the day off so I put in almost 50 miles. I then spent ... more »

Reply to Broken shoulder blade symptoms 9/18/2017 10:09 AM

Two years ago I had a badly torn rotator cuff repaired, it was a long and painful recovery. But once through it, my shoulder was great, it was like new again. I then crashed last year and broke my scapula. That injury was just as painful and almost lasted ... more »

Starcross 5 medium works as good as the Dunlop mx3s, and lasts much longer. The dunlops always chunk it seems. The starcross 5 soft wore quickly for me, but I was using it in mixed terrain so I wasn't surprised.

ML, I keep getting quoted on a previous post and I think the gist of what I was saying was lost. I don't care who wins, though I find the information very interesting. My reason for posting was to give you some input that might be considered for future ... more »

I wonder how true this really is. Of all my injuries, the one that still causes the most trouble is a wrist dislocation. I'm just praying it never gets to the fusion stage.

ML, great work on the shootout! Very comprehensive, detailed, and reader friendly. I liked what you did with the weight segment. Front/rear bias isn't something I'd considered before. A small suggestion on that would be using percentage rather than actual ... more »

The first one, the 'Ducati', is that actually a Vertemati? Pic is bad, but I think I see a reverse kickstarter, and possibly the trademark swingarm Vertemati used.

September 15th 2027, when they finally realize the backwards engine just isn't going to work. Just like with the 5 valve head, Yamaha is very reluctant to give up on one of their innovations, as misguided as it may be.

From a recent trip to Montana. I like this pic because it gives a good idea how steep the terrain was and that's hard to capture in pics.
