Injectors don't care about leaded fuel....it's oxygen sensors that can't tolerate it. It coats the sensor and then it gets fouled and does not work right

Schumacher hit a tree, didn't he? Sonny Bono also hit a tree...without a GoPro. Bono is dead. Schumie isn't. What's your point?

I recommend pitting for fuel. I don't have a choice, as I typically burn almost a gallon a lap (2018 CRF450RX). Keeping a solid pace for 2 hours is going to burn more fuel than trailriding. Further, it's a 2 hour race. Depending on how the laps fall ... more »

Added reply in a thread How tight do you guys tighten your steering stem bearings? 10/8/2020 6:31 PM

I run mine pretty tight in my 2018 450RX...tight enough that the bars will not flop to the side by themselves, and there's a decent amount of drag felt. Bike has almost 300 hours on it, still on original stem brgs, I'll need to replace them at the end ... more »

Sorry to hear that they're being so petty about it. That sucks... especially because it's affecting your wife like it is. I didn't have to deal with that when I evicted my father. He did try to make me feel guilty about it, but I didn't let it get to ... more »

Pawpaw....the charging voltage is different between Li and lead acid batteries. The two are not interchangeable. Besides, the new bikes typically don't come with lead acid

Those engines use a mechanical water pump seal. You have to press the shaft out. It will not come out by hand. Then when you reassemble it, you have to install a new mechanical seal, which must be pressed on. (Honda recommends a new water pump shaft ... more »

Added reply in a thread Experience-based coolant/lowered engine temp recommendations 9/5/2020 8:07 AM

Lower humidity tends to increase evaporative cooling, as ambient air at say 20% humidity can absorb more moisture than ambient air at 80% humidity. Evaporative cooling doesn't really have an effect on motorcycle engines unless you 've just crossed a ... more »

Best bet in my experience would be oversize radiators, a Boyesen Supercooler, and a high pressure radiator cap. Engine Ice, Ice flow, all those "special" coolants have a surfactant (a "wetting" agent) in them, so theoretically more of the coolant is ... more »
