Good interview. Sounds to me like a rational guy. Sure, I am not going to agree with every decision, but, I can't find fault with the approach as articulated.

Very cool. That overpass looks eerily similar to the one I had to sit a storm out under on a Harley trip across Montana.

Tingo. I understand your thoughts on the penalty. Difficulty in this sport is the dramatic differences in the economic position of the riders and teams. The red flag penalty scheme discussed by Gallagher seemed like a good approach to address the disparity. A penalty should accomplish 2 things. 1 inflict punishment and 2 correct future behavior. With such differences between riders and their resources it is difficult in this sport to construct adequate penalties.
