Like has been mentioned above, you will only need the air boot from an 05'-07'. In 04', (04'--07') Honda switched to a TMX-x carb which is 75mm in length vs the older TMX carb, which is 91mm. If you do go for a Keihin PWK carb, you will want to get the ... more »

Both bikes use a #4 slide. The same as all the 17'-20' KTM/Husky's that use a carb.

OK, but,When you have the carb off to reset the float height, do yourself a favor and at least check the jet block gasket. A deformed gasket will cause the bike to load up at idle, and will then clean up around 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. Anything above 1/4 ... more »

The newer Mikuni tmx-x carbs, like you have on your YZ 125, is known to have a faulty jet block gasket. It will deform over a very short amount of time and cause the bike to run exactly as you are describing. It is a very common problem on 17’-19’ KTM’s. ... more »

How did you like the way the bike ran before the slide broke ? You have a few options for a new slide. Yamaha still offers a 4.25 slide that is a direct drop in. It will be ever so slightly richer than the 4.5 that you have now, but it’s a little pricey. ... more »

What slide # was used in 04' ? It should be marked on the pad at the top of the slide ?

That is actually more common than you think in those Mikuni TMX-x slides. Especially the slides with the hole semi filled for the throttle position indicator. I believe it is caused by the harmonic vibrations from the engine. I've seen it on both 125 ... more »

In reality though, the jetting specs for the 125's and 150's are not that different. The jetting specs that have been listed above, S-4 needle jet, 42-74, i'de start out in the 2nd clip position, a 490 main along with #5 slide, are all going to be very ... more »

You need a 914 series needle jet for the late model TMX-x carbs. I bet you ordered a 633 series needle jet, which is not correct, as you have found out. AJ has given you the correct KTM part # https://www.motosport.com/oem-parts/part-number/55431021400?mmysource=ktm;150sx;2019&partgroup=carburetor&fam=engine ... more »

I have done the carbs on a bunch of these bikes(125--300,KTM/Husky's) now, with the majority of them not having the float bowl mod done. I've never been able to tell the difference after riding the bikes back to back with and without the float bowl mod ... more »

With the 37.5 pilot, is that with the front side of the slide notched ? Can you list your current carb specs ?

Try it with the 35 pilot first.

Yes, try a bigger pilot.

Possibly, but start out in the 2nd clip position. Those temps are similar to what we have in NY right now and the bike I have set up now are only requiring small air screw adjustments.

That AS-1 carb with the correct jetting will work just fine. Since it's about 15mm longer than the OEM carb, make sure it doesn't push the airbox boot into the shock spring.
