Very cool video. I can see this being very helpful when rebuilding a motor just to keep everything together.

My first bike was a 1982 RM125. My mom and dad were divorced when I was 4. All 5 kids were living with my mom, which was a lot to handle, so my aunt(dad's sister), offered to watch me often. This was great because my cousin, more like a brother, was ... more »

I can't say with 100% certainty about honing, but, that is what I've been told by several people that do motor work. The honing process doesn't take a bunch of surface off any plating. Even after a fresh plating, those cross hatches have to get into ... more »

So the reason the exhaust bridge is ground down a bit is mainly because the piston most likely used was a forged piston. Forged pistons expand more than cast. With that little piece of metal, the combination of grinding it down AND drilling the small ... more »

My biggest concern on this track is the rhythm section right after the start. If someone doesn't get a triple in that section off the start, they could get landed on and lights out. Not wild about possibly being one lined either.

I've got a friend that has a 2003 SX200 motor in a 2010 150SX chassis, if you are interested in something like that. The bike is in EXCELLENT shape. recently stripped to the frame, powder coated, fresh plastic and graphics.

The best part of the build is that I get to help him install everything!!!! Yup, I'm the weird guy who likes to work on bikes.

I just posted about this one: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Tech-Help-Race-Shop,42/Suspension-help,1354916 You actually separate the other end, where the valve came off. To minimize damage, I removed the o-ring left on there and headed that main shaft. It came off pretty easy then.

Thanks guys. I'll try those tomorrow when I have a chance to get out in the cold to work on them again.

Thanks but that part I already knew. The one I’m working on already has the whole shin and valve off already. I need to change the spring on the remaining part, but I can’t seem to find anything on the internet about taking it apart.

I'd bet if Ignite went to Feld and said they wanted to do a sponsorship, the situation would be different.

Again, It was the INTENT. Bowers NEVER intended or even made an attempt at the corner. Bowers intended to T-Bone Barcia and not bother making the corner. Watch the Barcia/Bowers incident. Barcia was completely sideways as he was trying to pass Bowers. ... more »

Reply to Bowers on last nights DQ 2/18/2019 7:26 AM

This is why the DQ was merited. Bowers NEVER ATTEMPTED TO STOP or MAKE THE CORNER! He straight up T-Boned him and that was his intention. Bowers head never stopped looking at the side of Barcia's bike. If he was really trying to make the corner, his ... more »
