Hey OCScottie, I grew up with an ATC 110. One ride on my 1977 YZ80 cured me of my love for anything with more than 2 wheels. Around age 16 I thought I had the stoppie all figured out on my sweet KX250.

When working with aluminum the area next to a weld is give or take abuot 50% as strong due to heat effect and stress risers. Butt welding aluminum with 90 degree cut-joints is not strong. Just about every conversion I've seen is done in this way. If ... more »

Yeah, TV makes it look so slow and easy. TV often makes the tracks look weak and flat too. I try to explain to my casual-fan friends and friends who aren't racers just how gnarly the tracks, riders, sport are. The only way to ever really understand is ... more »

Track position is often greater than corner speed in supercross. Especially for the guys riding the 250 class. In the 450 class, we see the guys with corner speed killing the competition, especially Villopoto, he's on another level. Every time I see ... more »

You'll need the swing-arm, hub, axle, linkage and the bolt that attaches the linkage to the swing-arm. The linkage pull rods are different lengths on different years and will change the ride height of your bike. Make sure to use the same four stroke ... more »

The swing arm cuts the weight down a bit. Some of that weight reduction is in the later model hub (2009+ four stroke parts). I think the whole assembly saves a pound or a pound and a half. Some of that is un-sprung weight, so it might improve traction ... more »

I'm a two stroke guy I guess... I have a 125, a 250 and even a big bore 250 (295cc). I've ridden a home-built conversion ('02 CR250R with a 500 engine). That was a fun bike, but I can put in a more aggressive, faster lap on a bone stock YZ250 even at ... more »

You'll have fun with that bike for sure. Set the sag and change that rear sprocket and it's ready to race!

Moto pranks...? Stick with the basics. How about the zip-tie on the porta-john door in the pits? That one never gets old if you keep them guessing. When it does get old and your buddy is used to hearing the "ZZZZZiiiiiiiiiiip" sound and knows he has ... more »

I'll be back at it in around 1 month when this ankle heals up. Markit, actually it is time for a top end... I'm at about 15 hours on this one. Even though I do give my friends a lot of grief, I'm not a four stroke hater. I bought the 125 In hopes that ... more »

This is awesome! Bike setup is greater than a new bike with expensive hop-up parts. Smooth style, corner speed and fitness is greater than a fast bike.
