Started new thread 1980 CR125R Flywheel puller 4/19/2016 2:40 PM

Does anyone know the correct size for the 1980 CR125R flywheel puller? I picked up a 27 X 1.00 mm puller, LH. It says it would work with it, but it does not seem to want to thread in. Just wondering if anyone has any insight. I have since found a site ... more »

Added reply in a thread [MXGP 2 VIDEOGAME] US. Release Date 4/8/2016 4:05 PM

Here is a video of MXGP2 Helmet Cam mode (starts at around 3:00). Looks pretty much the same to me. How was it ruined? I'm not being a smartass, I don't have the game yet, but I really can't see how they ruined it. Notice the online jerkiness. Looks ... more »

Added reply in a thread 80-ish CR 125 Fork Oil Weight -- best guess? 10/15/2015 6:10 AM

Those were 1980 forks. I just redid a set, and the manual, which I have, called for 5w oil. (I used 7w). The capacity was a range of 280cc-320cc per leg. (I used 290). Incidentally the air recommended was 9psi, with a max of 20. The fork action is OK. ... more »

Added reply in a thread What year are these CR's? 10/5/2015 8:11 AM

The top one is a 1980. That was the only year of the double downtube. The second one I am pretty sure is an 1983.

No problem Mark. I doubt guys will even notice that the forks are different.

Mark, I am slowly parting out my 1980 YZ 465. The seat, tank, and side panels are gone I have everything else. Not sure what is interchangeable with the 78, but if there's something your looking for, let me know. I know the forks would work....

I am 99.99% sure those are 1980 CR forks. I am right in the middle of redoing a set of 1980 CR forks, and everything about these look identical. The air caps are the same, the way the axle sticks out past the leg, and has an axle nut on it, and the four ... more »

Sweet, I was watching that bike for a while. Just too many other projects going, or it would have been sitting in my garage. Congrats, looks like a nice low hour bike. I am jealous.

Added reply in a thread Equal Displacement Pro Racing.....Has the time come? 8/4/2015 11:20 AM

I don't think the answer is equal displacement, this whole shift to the 4t's was created when the governing bodies allowed double the displacement for 4t's compared to 2t's. Thus the 250 4's dominated the 125 class, and the 450's dominated the 250 class. ... more »

Thank you very much for the links. I was able to get it off cleanly by using a pair of curved needle nose pliers in the grooves.

It is part no. 07910-4440000. Several places list it online, but when you click on them it says obsolete part.

My first bike, an MR50, had a black plastic cup attached to the fuel cap. You'd fill the cup with oil, dump it in a gallon of gas, and you were good to go.

His quote at the bottom would make me believe he went in head first. I've had many knee MRI's, and they've always been feet first with your head outside the machine, so to me the quote makes no sense for a knee MRI. Maybe he is just trying to be coy. ... more »

Went out and remeasured. Center of eye to center of eye is more like 17.25. I was going by memory when I said 17.5, so sorry for that. The shafts are clean, and straight. I measured the travel of the shaft as though the bumpers were not there, and measured

Thanks. I really think they are Works Performance, but I would not want to mislead someone. They are 17.5 eye to eye, from a 1979 CR125R. They need a rebuild, but are still pretty nice.

Can anyone help with a positive ID of the shocks I have? To me they look like Works Performance Shocks, but there is no identifying marks on them that state that. I am going to be listing these for sale, and would not want to misrepresent what they are.
