Brisker work well. It's worth a try for moto to wear latex/vinyl gloves under your regular riding gloves helps cut wind and retain heat.

Pictured is a YZ125 stock pipe which has been stripped down and coated with VHT High Temp Clear about 13 hrs ago. The color is a bit off but zero maintenance since coating. I would do this again.

I think the gear detent bearing issue was resolved in 2007. Fork lugs were changed around 2010-2013. Front master cylinder was changed in between 2006 and 2014, maybe 2008?
